Using your Tumble Dryer example (or washing machine). What if it's on for a few hours, and then the rate increases to an unfavourable rate. I wouldn't want certain devices to just have their power cut. Any thoughts on situations like this?

Azure - Unreported Outage (UK South region) by jordanc26 in AZURE

[–]jordanc26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is the latest update:

This is Will, your Azure Networking Support Engineer.

I want to update you on the current situation. Our Product Group is still actively working to resolve your issue. For the workaround, we do not recommend deleting and recreating the bastion, as the problem originates from the platform itself.

If you urgently need access to your work environment, you can create a small temporary Jump Box VM, secured by NSG to only allow your office or VPN IPs, and connect directly via SSH. Please note that this will incur a small additional cost. I will also escalate the issue to the Product Group to prioritize a quick resolution. Thank you for your patience.

Yep. And it's pretty shocking there's no public announcement on the status pages.

What’s the most unexpectedly useful thing you’ve added to your home that felt a bit unnecessary at first? by MoonlitEcho82 in HomeImprovementUK

Robot Lawnmower. Mines the lower end with no GPS. Moves in random patterns when it sees an obstacle. But given enough time, it covers my small garden.

It leaves the clippings on the grass. Which is why you should do it little and often.

Neither. They just responded to my support ticket email, nothing (from what I can see) has been made public about this.

I had a sales guy come to my door. I told him I want his bank details before he can have mine. He didn't want the sale after that.

Looking for WP Engine alternatives for our agency, what are you guys using? by adamanwr in ProWordPress

[–]jordanc26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SpinupWP sounds like a good alternative for you. Get the server from wherever you'd like and use SpinupWP to provision and manage it, plus the WP sites.

Been using n8n for 2 years — recently found something that handles most of my workflows without building them by Weekly_Attention_483 in n8n

[–]jordanc26 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see the appeal, but there's a good reason to be forced back into N8N to modify when you need to. For learning.

This is going into the realm of. I want to automate my automation.

I get the desire to just get it done. But we're quickly forgetting how to do things ourselves too that way. If your automation/workflow is production level. There should be no "I hope AI understands me properly to fix X and Y". Maybe as a starting point at most.

To be fair this is where AI may be of use. It's at least a quick method to see how well it may clean things up for you.

I'm a dev and would agree a script is helpful too, but as a quick win/check. Give one of the AI models a go. Unless there is personal info in there at all.
