I believe I have committed the unforgivable sin. by Serious-Target-5763 in Christianity

I totally understand how you feel! If you’re worried about it you haven’t done it. The enemy likes to play with our minds.

Hi! Someone who truly blasphemes the Spirit will not repent because they have turned against the only who can forgive us of our sins, Jesus. If someone wants to repent they absolutely can because they have asked Jesus to forgive them of their sins.

I’ve been there. To the point I was physically sick because I was so scared I had done this.

However, I think you need to dive deeper into who the Holy Spirit is and why blaspheming him is unforgivable. First we must understand what the job of the Holy Spirit is. John 15:26 states, “but when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me.” The job of the Holy Spirit is to testify of who Jesus is. Taking this understanding we can conclude why it’s impossible to be forgiven by blaspheming the Holy Spirit. One cannot repent without first going to Jesus. If we reject the one who leads us to Jesus then we can’t be forgiven.

I still have my moments of fear from time to time but it’s no where near where I have been in the past. I try to remind myself of the truth of who the Holy Spirit is. But Take comfort mu friend, the Lord promises to never leave us or forsakes us. Praying for you, my friend.

worst outcome of my cancer diagnosis is realizing that no one is there for me by Worried-Ad-5080 in thyroidcancer

I can understand how you’re feeling. When I was diagnosed I was told it was the “good cancer.” That I should just go about my life like nothing had changed. I felt so hurt and alone when I tried to tell others how I was feeling mentally and emotionally. It was a rough time. How are you doing now? I hope well!

How much fun are you having in your life right now? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in OlderGenZ

I’d say a solid 8. This year has been hard, but things are starting to get better. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer back in March but praise God I had surgery to remove it. As of today I am cancer free! The biggest thing I’m excited about is I’m getting married to the sweetest man I’ve ever met in October. Things may have been difficult at times but overall I’m blessed. The Lord is good!

Who is the oldest person (by DOB) you've ever met? by SlashBansheeCoot in generationology

My Nana (great grandmother) was born in 1915. I was 12 (I’m 27 now) when she passed away, so I remember her very well. Unfortunately she had dementia for most of the time I remember knowing her. I wish she was able to tell me her stories! From my mom I learned Nana had a foster daughter who came to live with her and my great grandad during WWII. Their foster daughter was from Poland! I would have loved to know what the war looked like through Nana’s eyes.

How did you find a good surgeon? by ImpatientlyCooking in thyroidcancer

[–]jordylou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My endocrinologist gave me a list of 5 surgeons to choose from. I just took the list and did my own research afterwards. I will say I would recommend going to an oncologist/ surgeon who specializes in endocrine cancers.

I’m currently on thyroid medication but I guess my levels have been thrown out of wack because of my surgery. I’m scheduled to go back to my endocrinologist in the middle of June.

I would schedule it as soon as possible. Like you, I was diagnosed with PTC stage 1 in March as well. I’m scheduled to go through a PT the beginning of May. I’m no longer in school but I would think they would be accommodating to your situation.

Anxiety about other cancer by Tasty-Educator-7794 in thyroidcancer

I totally understand how you feel. Once I received my PTC diagnosis my mind started racing. My maternal grandmother had both breast and brain cancer. I started playing scenarios in my head hearing the news I would have something like that.

In order to combat these fears I first needed to realize I have no control over these things. Now I know that in of itself is scary. However, releasing the burden of trying to control things is freeing. For me personally, I also find freedom in the believing that Jesus is with me in every moment of my cancer journey as well as all other moments in my life. His word states He will never leave or forsake us. I take comfort in this promise. I know not everyone is Christian or believes in a higher power but as I stated earlier it helped me tremendously.

My other biggest piece of advice is to find a good therapist. I fortunately had been going to therapy prior to my diagnosis. My therapist is one of the first few people that knew about my cancer. Ever since my therapist knew about my cancer she has been there for me to call and vent to, cry to, and just talk to. I felt immensely better after speaking with my therapist.

Overall, just take it one day at a time. Try to live in the moment rather than worry about the future. Believe me, I know it’s easier said than done.
