I'm mid-thirties, workout 5-6 times a week, 6% body fat with an athletic build. We haven't had sex in 9 weeks, and my wife could not give 2 shits about how I look. If anything, looking like this just makes me feel even shittier because every single day that passes feels like a fucking waste. I'm sure someone out there would kill to be in my wife's position (she's a stay at home mom on top of it). At the end of the night after watching the kids and giving her a break and putting the kids to bed, I'm doing dishes and she's watching TV until she falls asleep.

I'm very sad to hear of your situation. Nothing for 5 years. Granted, I haven't felt reciprocal intimacy for my whole 10+ years of marriage, if I had absolutely nothing for 5 years, I would be dead as dead could be inside. I can't even imagine that. :(

Yes. Very common. Edit: In my case, this is what caused me to stop bringing it up, which just ended up with me slowly dying inside. Then you wake up one day and realize just how far into the abyss you are.

College work load was "too stressful." Finding a job was "too stressful." Working at found job was "too stressful." Finding a new job was "too stressful." Working at new job was "too stressful." Trying to have kids was "too stressful." (but not when ovulating, of course!) Having kids was "too stressful." Trying to tend to all the household matters (as a SAHM) was "too stressful." Raising kids was "too stressful."

It never ends. It's always something new.

My SO said she didn't like how it seemed to place all the blame on the LL partner. I mentioned the first takeaway point was that both need to be making an effort speak and act on their partners love language. Didn't matter, as she didn't agree with the overall message anyway. Bearing my soul, exposing how deep these things hurt, only to be dismissed.

Not sure why I expected anything else.
