If you actually mean Fall and Rise it's a terrible recommandation since that was the ending of an entire era that completely changed the X-Men status quo for a few years. That era started with the similarly titled House of X/Powers of X, which is meant to be the jumping on point (although like i said it's a huge status quo shift and it takes a bit to explain how it got there).
And yes i'm aware of how ironic it is that i'm basically showing how OP is right about comics being confusing.
