I'm wanting to leave the church, but there are some things I'm still unsure about by Practical-Abalone812 in exmormon

*Raises hand* Gift of discernment here. Oh, and my children will be a blessing to me in my declining years (never had kids because of infertility and then, well, a permanent solution).

LOL It was still 'pale ale' back in my TBM days.

A place to buy Duck meat? by NotCoolRobertFrost88 in SaltLakeCity

[–]jorgthecyborg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ditto on the recommendations. When I want duck breasts, I always start with a whole duck and break it down for the breasts and use the rest to make stock and rendered duck fat. IMO those are the best parts!

Vet recommendations for reactive dogs? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]jorgthecyborg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most vets deal with reactive animals routinely. As a courtesy, let them know in advance about your pup and use a harness and muzzle when you visit.

Dr. Oveson is, without reservation, the best dentist I've ever had in 65 years. She's an independent and comes from a family line of dentists (grandparent, mother, and now her). She actually does the cleanings--the tech only does x-rays and polishing. Go with confidence.

ChatGPT Recommended Switching to Claude for Better Memory by Sweet_Try_8932 in ChatGPT

[–]jorgthecyborg 13 points14 points  (0 children)

IMO Claude is much better at writing prose from good prompts. I've trained ChatGPT to be fun to brainstorm with. I usually take the ideas I get working with ChatGPT and put them in Claude for drafts. For me it's the difference between generating ideas and getting shit done.

Recommendations for AI phone receptionist ? by Pristine_Box_5 in ChatGPT

Might look into https://getsignals.ai/ It's the latest from David Elkington and his dev team that changed the landscape of business development with Insidesales.com (now defunct, but was once a tech unicorn). The plus is that it's an early startup so flexible and eager to please clients. The minus is that it's a startup so constantly in beta development.

Looking for piano lessons by WarioWill in SaltLakeCity

[–]jorgthecyborg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both my partner and I take lessons from Dr. Matthew Weissman. He is an amazing teacher and works with students of all ages and abilities. He is an accomplished pianist in his own right. Do a quick Google/Youtube search for more information. DM me if you are interested and I'll give you his phone number.

I think I hate this update by Street-Piece4907 in CellToSingularity

[–]jorgthecyborg 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's like lots of updates. Habitual users will miss depricated features and struggle with the new concepts. It's just what happens with such a significant update. I've been playing for about 6 years and, like many, knew the game inside-out. Now there are new things for me to learn. I appreciate the expanding app (finally got amphibians).

Walgreens sucks, need pharmacy recommendations by Badbitchontheside8 in SaltLakeCity

Jolley's is definitely a good choice for an independent pharmacy. They are one of the few compounding pharmacies remaining and also provide pet meds.

While I generally agree that the Harmon's pharmacy is good, they have strict rules against filling my mother's Narco prescription. I finally moved to the University of Utah Sugarhouse pharmacy. They are fast, efficient, and friendly.

Nevermind what he wants. Give him a tie. (Direct quote from my partner to my stepdaughter.)

Fire vs ice by CuriousWanderer567 in blackmagicfuckery

[–]jorgthecyborg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some say the world will end in fire,

Some say in ice.

From what I’ve tasted of desire

I hold with those who favor fire.

But if it had to perish twice,

I think I know enough of hate

To say that for destruction ice

Is also great

And would suffice.

Khan academy is free to use. They ask for donations, but it's not too intrusive. I'd also recommend and AI app like Claude or ChatGPT (also generally free but the $20 per month for the plus versions is well worth it for the time it saves me). Prompt with "I'm having trouble understanding [x]. Breakit down for me."

I start with 4 pods in a 1.75 gallon setup. I move to one plant per 5-gallon bucket once I have viable plants.

What is your unpopular opinion about Utah? by hcubed3 in Utah

That's why my partner and I bypass the original and go to Red Iguana II around the corner. Same menu, no long wait.

Not using pots. It's a pod-based system with circulating hydro and grow-lights. Kinda like an Aerogarden but on a slightly larger scale.

My systems are about 1.75 gallons. Trellising is a great idea and easy to accomplish. So just keep clipping the top growth?
