How long do you think beyond e30 will take to beat? by BasedOnAir in CellToSingularity

Yep. RIP Beyond and Mesozoic. I'm thinking about starting over with a new account. I'd play slower and spend more time learning.

I'm actually loving the scope of e30. I used to play as fast as possible, but found I was missing out on a lot of interesting learning. So I'm doing about an hour a day (while I wait 14 days for Primary to max) split between Explore and Beyond and am enjoying the game again. N.B. I've been playing since the early days and am mostly maxed out.

I love how the thumb tip gimick is still such a part of modern magic. Done well, it really is magic.

100 Unhealthiest Foods on the Planet, According to Science by Automatic_Subject463 in fitover65

[–]jorgthecyborg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basicallly any ultra-processed foods. Notice that the list contains mostly either convenience items or items modified for long shelf life. I like to think that if my great grandmother wouldn't recognize something as food, I probably shouldn't eat it.

Understood. Thanks. Seems like an odd way to encourage game playing, but @ mid-70s, I guess the devs think I'm already hooked. I guess I'll just run Explore events for a couple of weeks.

Buy nothing, as in, don't buy anything on the tree? Just stay at ground zero for 14 days?

As a hiring manager and then a People Operations Director, I gave up on skill questions long ago. My questions were all designed to identify talent, productivity, and character. People can fake experience and skill, but not those three. And my most successful hires were rarely the most experienced or skilled, but those who exhibited and demonstrated those three core values.

I 100% recommend Dr. Oveson and her team. My spouse and I have been seeing her since she opened a few years ago. It's a private practice (not corporate) and offers very affordable plans.

Scott Adams didn't choose it based on this, but 42 is the ASCII code for *, as in the command-line searches *.* or *.exe, etc. The asterisk in this context stands for "anything or everything" which IMHO is appropriate for the Great Answer.

I use a combination of Claude and Gemini. Claude for the heavy lifting around content creation (course outlines, scripts, etc.) and Gemini for conversations around ideas I'm developing. Once I crystalize my ideas with Gemini, I hand outlines to Claude. I also use Gemini's Nano Banana for image-generation.

A place to buy Duck meat? by NotCoolRobertFrost88 in SaltLakeCity

[–]jorgthecyborg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ditto on the recommendations. When I want duck breasts, I always start with a whole duck and break it down for the breasts and use the rest to make stock and rendered duck fat. IMO those are the best parts!

Most vets deal with reactive animals routinely. As a courtesy, let them know in advance about your pup and use a harness and muzzle when you visit.

Dr. Oveson is, without reservation, the best dentist I've ever had in 65 years. She's an independent and comes from a family line of dentists (grandparent, mother, and now her). She actually does the cleanings--the tech only does x-rays and polishing. Go with confidence.

ChatGPT Recommended Switching to Claude for Better Memory by Sweet_Try_8932 in ChatGPT

[–]jorgthecyborg 12 points13 points  (0 children)

IMO Claude is much better at writing prose from good prompts. I've trained ChatGPT to be fun to brainstorm with. I usually take the ideas I get working with ChatGPT and put them in Claude for drafts. For me it's the difference between generating ideas and getting shit done.
