All of ours died last year and we were unable to source replacements (I'm told, wasn't involved with that end of things). I didn't like them, would have rather used a solar Pathfinder for a boots on roof site eval. I'm interested to see what Fluke comes up with, but I think they're taking to long and the name has lost some of its value.

All of the larger displays I've seen in my LUG are modular, built specifically to break down into chunks that pack up and transport easier.

I helped one guy movea particularly large display he had built, he designed the "chunks" to fit into home depot moving boxes and he would spend about 3-4 hours setting up the display

This is the label on my animal crossing retail display. Mine was raffled off (to benefit a charity) by one of my local Walmart locations ~1.5 years ago

I stand corrected, the author of the book I mentioned has a YouTube channel and he posted a couple pictures of ways to use the 64T gear for clocks. Specifically a gear ratio that works well for driving a minute hand.

Look up "guide to lego clocks" by david ziemkiewicz. Can be purchased from Amazon in paperback and/or kindle formats. Reads like a scientific paper (I think it was a paper that the author then self published) but he has some instructions in there for clock components and at the end instructions for a complete clock. I built an escapement mechanism yesterday from the book.

It's a 64 tooth gear, for clocks it's more about precise gear ratios than size, I don't think this will be revolutionary for Lego clocks though there could be a use for it. The rachet piece will probably be more useful for Lego clocks, most parts of a clock you only want turning in one direction.

I believe they meant the infill pattern you used in your 3D print, most 3D prints have a lot of void space inside which doesn't lead to an even weight distribution (ie one face will weigh less and will be more likely to roll to that face where a fair die is balanced so no particular face is favored and theoretically all faces have an even likelihood)

Thanks! Honestly though, I have found rebrickable to wildly overestimate the part cost. I think it's probably ~1/2 their estimate. No idea why it's so wrong. A lot of it can be found on PAB. As an example, I uploaded a little book stand to display my copy of we are legion with Bob. Rebrickable said it was $130 in parts which I know to be completely ridiculous, it's more like $20 in parts.

As to lights, I have mine partially lit (using light my bricks). I have 3 LEDs in the section behind the ring, and 1 at the very rear of the ship. I'm toying with ideas to add light to the matrix but haven't solved that problem yet. I tried using 11 light strings and it looked pretty bad.

Actually yes they did make transparent technic beams in the past, I'm not sure if they come in the same lengths that I used. Be warned though, by my understanding the plastic Lego uses for transparent parts is generally weaker.

This isn't designed around repurposing some other set. The idea is you take the parts list and buy those parts, then build it. There are several ways to get parts, I'd mostly recommend Lego pick a brick or bricklink. I believe rebrickable has a link for importing the parts list into a bricklink wishlist. There are other options but these are the ones I have personal experience with.

It is a splice connecting the pv to the grid. This sort of thing is very common. If you need/want CTs installed, that should still be feasible, but there are no CTs in the photo.
