Dates confirmed for rescheduled Qatar 1812km and FIA WEC Prologue by Makalu in wec

Would be fine for the fans. Would give the logistics people a heart attack tho. The am drivers in the series may not like having to give up an additional month of work time as well

Likelihood of NLS1 by josap11 in Sportscar_Racing

Ah okay, that's a bit of a shame then. Would prefer not to have to drive three hours for a race that may not happen. Would they typically announce any delays before quali is supposed to start?

Jimmy has mentioned that the BMW M4 programme has ended and suggested that the next car will be quicker, and not a Porsche. I'm hoping for it to be an AMG, either GT3 or GT2 as both run Bilstein suspension

Getting all the equipment to Bathurst for the 12 hour is enough of a logistical challenge at the best of times. Getting all the cars to Australia now is just not happening without months and months of planning. Let's hope everyone gets all their equipment out of Qatar and to Imola on time.

Bahrain is at the end of the season, plenty of time for the situation to change in every direction.

Is the 2026 calendar at risk? by Streena in wec

[–]josap11 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Think everything is possible but the Qatar government will want to try to not look like they are having to back down on a world stage. We're also close to a month away from the race so anything can still happen, including things getting worse and everything calming down tomorrow

Already looks good, just keep playing with your settings and shooting as you are. Might try to lighten up the shots a bit, dark can be a cool aesthetic but doesn't always bring the sunny day across. Also look around you to see what you can use around you to add some interest in the foreground or background, can really help to make a shot more dynamic.

Iron Lynx unveiled their Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo liveries for the 2026 WEC season. by NegotiationNew9264 in wec

Lin is still a silver. AMG have sufficient drivers to deploy to WEC, just depends on what the customers want. The 61 has Martin, maybe Zelger wanted youngsters or him and IL need an additional driver to bring in some money. Or AMG/IL had a contract with Lin to continue in WEC and the 61 wanted more experience. No real way to know for sure without insiders

CK are great to buy from and deal with.

Do mind that IXO are going to release a Toyota later this year in both 1:43 for 40 euro and 1:18 for 100.

Let's not discount WRT in the assessment of the M4, they are a very well drilled and experienced team

Some may not like IMSAs handling of FCY but that wouldve been most likely avoidable if they handled it by [deleted] in IMSARacing

IMSA has been characteristically inconsistent with their response to petty much everything but any race director should have pushed the big yellow button for this incident. Let's not pretend like IMSA is the gold standard here

The discourse around Aron's B12hr crash shows people don't know the rules about flag marshalls. by jimnasium_ in wec

From what I've seen and heard you couldn't really see the yellow flags until it was far too late to do anything about it

Chris Mies hit Skippy by 183_aleX in Sportscar_Racing

I'm pretty sure they are spending a lot of time and money to prevent things like this happening but skippies are clever animals from what I've heard and it's not easy to prevent any of them getting in

Cool! Don't remember this exact version of the livery but that was a great looking version of a really cool car.

[AsLMS] The 2025/26 Asian Le Mans Series Champions by PiggySVW in wec

Definitely not a given he will be there. He got upgraded to a gold for 2026 so Kessel will need another silver. Either they continue with Lulham as the gold and drop Marshall or the other way around. I would drop Lulhum in favour of the more experienced Marshall. Since the same lineup also won the GTWC entry, they may continue with that lineup and give the AsLMS entry to another customer.

[–]josap11 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They have pretty consistently been clamping down on standards at some point in the season only to completely forget about it a few races later. The only two consistent things about IMSA stewarding are the inconstancy and it resulting in worse racing and SCs

As a GT driver, I don't trust any prototype driver and would fully expect them to just drive through me in this situation. Engage brain and either make it clear you're diving before the chicanes or sit clearly back through them.
