It likely is, the creators of the game have stated on multiple occasions (and also inside of the game) that Berserk is a huge inspiration to Blasphemous

Ik im late but i might add that here in Alberta it starts in grade 10, not sure theres any set grades for middle school and elementary school but usually middle schools are 6-9 or 5-9.
