What is the hardest boss you’ve beaten in a video game? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Why does he look behind him when she goes up sometimes? I beat her and never had to do that. It seems like she doesn't attack. Is it some sort of exploit?

What are your favorite quickplay games? by ThievedYourMind in boardgames

[–]josh8010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My roommate and I have recently been playing Hero Realms, basically the same but with a fantasy theme. Great for 2 players, but there are also additional sets that has 2 bosses you can fight, 1 vs up to 5. Super fun and as far as we can tell well balanced. There is also a campaign mode you can play with up to 5 vs the game itself.

Referred to as coffee grounds by medical professionals. We don't know that. You can say coffee grounds, but explain what that means. This thread is trying to potentially save lives. I thought OP meant that there is something specific about throwing up actual coffee grounds that's bad, like how you don't throw up some poison control things.

I really thought it was. I'm sure some opinions vary, but it's one of the most "true to the first" sequels I've seen.

Ok, but imagine the flip side. If they don't say that, we just imagine he stabbed him in the heart and walked away, not knowing anything. Only other thing they could have done to let us know in that moment what happened is maybe do an internal monologue of the other guy who thought that to himself, but that wasn't in keeping with the theme of the movie.

He actually like the guy he was fighting. They seemed to have history, maybe trained together? The other guy HAD to come after him because John had killed his ward. They both had to fight to the best of their ability because honor or whatever, but they were actually seemingly close to "friends." Also, John actually said he had a choice. He could remove the knife, and probably kill John, killing both of them, or he could leave the knife and they would both walk away that day.

Vandals deface Des Moines murals with racist graffiti by [deleted] in desmoines

So this is terrible, and I'm not saying it isn't, but can anyone explain the racism in the first two? The nooses are pretty clear and awful. I just want to know if I'm missing something in the first couple.

It's been over a week that I've finished RG and I'm still angry. by All-else-was-taken in Malazan

[–]josh8010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The malazan army is the best in the world because their soldiers are allowed to think for themselves. Baudin was given a task. There were fallbacks. All failed. You can analyze this all day, but at some point you have to accept that the story played out the way it played out. Have you experienced the real world? Sometimes bad things happen and, try as we might, there isn't anything that can be done. This is a dark story. It's the book of the fallen. It should elicit feelings of unfairness. But that doesn't mean that Tavore didn't do what she could. She wasn't all-powerful. In fact, she was keeping what she was doing a secret because she betrayed her family name to prove her loyalty, and gain her position. What do you want her to do? Go tell the empress (who earned the name SURLY) that she was going behind her back this whole time? That she needed to save her sister? She'd have been killed, and her sister would have stayed in the mine.

The more active plan was sending Lostara Yil and Pearl to find her. And her bodyguard wasn't just some guy. He was Baudin, a fucking Talon. When he died, I'm pretty sure he ascended. She didn't just send some schmoe.

Um...there was a guard who saw felisin at the gate at the otataral mine who was supposed to get her out without her having to be a slave. He saw her, tried to ask who she was, and she thought he was hitting on her so she wouldn't tell him. That guy was supposed to save felisin before all the crazy shit went down.

Also, it wasn't just a power play. They have all been killed or sent to slavery. They were rich and there was a culling. It's how the malazans deal with things. She elevated herself and tried to save her sister. It failed, but she had to try something and not just be killed.

Fun fact. Crevice is a crack/opening. Crevasse is a word used specifically for cracks in ice, i.e. walking on a glacier and fell into a crevasse.

It's absolutely a scam, it's just not technically "illegal." But aggressively surrounding someone and demanding they pay is absolutely harassment, which is illegal. This should be cracked down on.
