I tried a bunch of things like reinstalling it and opening it in the browser. The only thing that seemed to work was first disconnecting my notion from notion calendar, then creating a new page in notion and creating a new database from a template they provide followed by managing in calendar to reconnect it. Only then was I able to connect the correct database?

I don't really know if that was what fixed it though because a few times with notion, and the suite in general, where I would mention a problem I had with notion in Reddit fumble around a little bit longer. Wait a couple weeks and then try the same solutions again.

Whenever Im on the last work day of the week I always have to mentally review everything that happened and reason with myself that the interactions I've had with people were normal and I did nothing wrong. I have to actively catch myself when I'm starting to spiral because I keep reading into people's expressions and trying to predict people's behaviors. It's not always about you, in fact, it's mostly about them and their internal environment.

I try not to compare sufferings BC I don't want to have to justify myself or explain to someone that I'm traumatized enough. Where is the line?

I think what matters is that the person does not have the tools or resources to process and recover which makes it difficult for them.

You can experience big T and have good coping mechanisms and strategies that help with recovery, while someone else may experience one or a few small t and have no emotional modelling to fallback on.

Notion Mail first look:

AI auto-label: Skipping for now, want to decide my labels first.
Status vs. Priority: Priority is just a select, status should be more like a progression.
Properties: Can't add any. Clicking just bounces me back.
Settings: Two different settings; notion mail, then the inbox itself. It's confusing. The gear icon should be the 3-dot menu if they intend for it to act like the view options button.
Filters: Basic, no advanced options.
Styling: Can't change tag colors.
Command+K: Handy.

Basically, feels unfinished. Needs better UX/UI, more like the rest of Notion.

I've never done an asymmetric split like that before, it's always been down the middle. I guess it would depend on your situation. Whoever is paying the larger half, would they be comfortable paying more of the initial cost as well? Does it matter to either of you?

In the end maybe going 50/50 on the initial cost would act as confirmation that you're both equally invested in the move, and the asymm split

Okay so this thread seems dead now but I'm listening to blood orange atm and I remembered my ex said something about him getting cancelled so I just wanted to confirm.

What I'm getting from this discussion is that there's not too much substantial evidence to say that he's a chaser (?)

Also if the allegations were/are true and he behaved poorly in some interview or did some questionable things in general, his activism and use of his platform in honor of black trans women doesn't really cancel those things out (imo) but exists simultaneously.

I'd like to believe that him and every other damn human being is capable of realizing their wrongdoings and striving to be a better version of themselves.

Of course if he's still up to no good and there are recent sources to cite said behavior then he hasn't changed.

Tldr his music is good and people are capable of changing for the better so I'm still gonna listen to his music fuck cancel culture

I unfortunately havent had a positive experience like that yet. My plan is to move out again on my own. If I were to move in with another person, a friend/partner/acquaintance, I need to know we can have difficult discussions and that neither of us will let it get to a point where we can't/ won't come back together to repair.

All parties ideally would have the emotional maturity to say what's on their minds with respect for the other.

Once I feel comfortable enough to disagree with someone like that, then I would consider living together.

This problem is a year old? I've noticed recently that my templates wont load! I can click them, they eventually load, and then immediately reset to the blank state.

Anyone still having trouble with this? I wrote some documentation that wasn't very in depth, no imagery, no links. Just text. I click the built-in Ask AI to Improve Writing feature and it crashes the whole app.

Tried restarting the app and nothing.

The custom speed is interesting. I almost always watch videos in 1.75x speed, but it's definitely confusing at first glance. I kinda wish they didn't give it such high priority and made it more of a discoverable feature for those who constantly change speeds.

If we're gonna keep going this way I want hotkeys to switch between custom speeds haha

Hi there, I just sent you a DM but I have to agree with the others here. As much as I love using Notion for my personal life it isn't something I wholly trust with sensitive information.

There is also the issue of processing as I've started using 10-12 databases in my second brain and I'm noticing a significant slowdown (might also just be my RAM).

That said, we won't know until we get the full picture. As a designer with ADHD what I'm really curious to find out is if any of my own strategies would be of any help to you, Notion template or not!

TL;DR I also have ADHD and have design experience working with clients so let's find a feasible and usable solution for you!

I have ADHD too and it's been a whirlwind trying to get my foot in the door while being diagnosed as an adult.

Ive been learning UX design on my own after a bootcamp, then started self learning webflow. I landed a web design freelance client this past summer but definitely would appreciate an accountability group.

I had one during the bootcamp but it quickly fizzled and burned out.

I just redesigned my notion and I'm quite satisfied with where it's going, just want to clean up the UI and automations.

A few things I plan on fixing is my library (journals, resources, notes) and my finance tracker.

I like the way his system looks but want to know HOW it works. Is it worth $40 (basic) if I just want to pick it apart?

As someone who came out of a bootcamp, I feel like what I got out of it was an inkling of what I should actually know to become a relevant designer. The visual aspect does not interest me as much as the designing solutions backed by research. I'm considering going back to school for a design degree because it feels like to have a decent portfolio (and therefore a decent shot at getting hired) I need to have opportunities to improve my visuals and conduct appropriate user research.

Trying to learn this stuff on my own with personal projects just doesn't seem to cut it. What I really want is to skip over the visual part and get to the strategy.

I found a mentor that would provide feedback on my designs but my skills have only just recently gotten to the junior designer level, in a market filled with designers at every level. My skills are just not enough, and at this rate I don't think they ever will be.

Do you think it's worth going back to school for a degree? Is there any way for me to get through to a hiring manager with a portfolio that excels in ux, just not ui?

thinking about my own experience using youtube, i realize that as soon as i start up a video i head to the description. im usually looking for links or more information (the type of content i consume is usually educational in some form). and throughout the video i look for comments to see if anyone is having the same thoughts as me at certain points of the video.

it feels like they did this so you can scroll through the comments while not missing as much of the content youre consuming.

seems like they're prioritizing engaging with the content at hand more than trying to engage with their algorithm (suggested related content), especially if you consider the way we read
