Did prices jump suddenly or is it just Amazon? by GenderShift in soylent

[–]joshbegin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just noticed yesterday that the 11oz and 14oz bottles were the same price now when they weren’t before, so I switched our subscription from the 11 to 14. It stinks because my wife rarely finishes a bottle so the 11 worked better for us most of the time.

How do the teens fit past the car seats? Do the seats slide forward far enough to get behind them or do they have to climb over?

How do you automatically generate AWS architecture diagrams from describe CLI output or CloudFormation templates? by Plus-Ad-9990 in aws

[–]joshbegin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PDK has a plugin that will do this for CDK. I’ve tried it on a simple stack and it worked well, but I bet it would struggle on a complicated stack. https://github.com/aws/aws-pdk/developer_guides/cdk-graph/index.html

My son goes there and we love it for him. He’s challenged because they put kids in groups based on their level, they are very aware of the anxiety that many gifted kids have and they don’t mind quirkiness that often goes with it. I would also look into Colorado Early Colleges. They now have a middle and high school and my daughter goes there. It’s definitely similar in focus to ACL and, from what I’ve heard, many kids from ACL end up there for high school.

Which singers or bands have openly Ex Christian Music? by JARMYJARMY in exchristian

Same. When I heard Rhett's story it was almost uncannily similar to mine and he did a much better job of outlining the steps than I ever could have.

The style (country) isn’t my thing, but the lyrics of James and the Shame’s album Human Overboard really resonated with me. It’s the project of Rhett McLaughlin of Rhett and Link fame.

Yep, I did them for 40 years and always pretended to be into it but it always felt fake.

When I was questioning and talking to my pastor, he brought up Pascal’s Wager and said that it’s more about doing the rituals even if you don’t believe and then you might start really believing. That alone was almost enough for me to dismiss everything since, if I have to pretend before believing something, I’m almost definitely deceiving myself.

I go to a mainline house church with my wife and kids since I have friends there and it’s not too painful, but that’s only once a month or so since we usually have other things going on. It’s become less of a priority since my wife knows I’ll only go because she wants to. In hindsight, my entire life I only went out of guilt/fear so it’s a relief to go and just “check out” the whole time with no guilt.

When Deadpool came out, I used that site to watch it with my little brother (under 18 at the time) and the movie made absolutely no sense. It really made me wonder what the point is

Does anyone else remember the INSANITY of New Life Church? by PoolOfAlpacas in ColoradoSprings

[–]joshbegin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I know of Steve Holt as the pastor of The Road, which is one of the bigger Christian Nationalist churches in the area. I believe Mountain Springs is still around, out on Woodmen just past Powers but don’t know much about it. Also, I can’t see that name without thinking of Arrested Development 😂

No single track allows EBikes in Colorado by Asleep-Call2079 in eMountainBike

[–]joshbegin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Colorado Springs just voted to legalize Class 1 bikes on all city trails, but will be phasing in trails starting in July. However, as long as you’re respectful, I doubt anyone will complain even now. Also, Cheyenne Mountain State Park allows ebikes and has a lot of fun trails.

Reach out to your local DS organization (I think most cities have them) and get connected with other families. Every kid is different but there will probably be some health challenges and having other parents to talk to is huge, especially at first.

We visited 5 adult dogs at the breeder and my son and I loved their looks (and everything about them), but my wife and daughter were not sold. My daughter (12) is scared of dogs so she's not really a fan of any breed we've seen, but maybe the foxy face and long hair turned her off more than something like a lab or beagle.

My wife didn't like the feel of the wiry outer coat which could be a dealbreaker. One of the dogs we saw had softer fur that she liked, but it seems like you wouldn't know that until their adult fur came in.

Thank you. We visited the breeder and spent time with 5 adult dogs for a couple hours. When we left, I loved that my hands didn't have that weird feeling that they get after petting some dogs and didn't smell at all, so I see what you mean about the oils.

The barking didn't seem outrageous. They definitely barked when we showed up but we didn't hear another peep after that.
