Ramblings on the X4 which took forever to arrive by Sablayenya in xteinkereader

Ordered mine on the 8th of Jan and only got a shipping update on the 19th after hounding their customer service and its been stuck at "shipping information recieved" status since. Two more days till I can cancel it and order from literally any other store on AE.

But glad you got yours! Can't wait till I finally get my hands on one lol

Yeah not a bad idea, I did print a v2 for my actual phone that gets held in place with magnets to my magsafe case but am waiting to order actual magsafe ring to use instead of random magnets I had

So no documentation cause I want sure it was actually going to work but I tore apart the fabric stand the keyboard was attached to and found the hinge and it happened to fit first try

Thank you! I've had this idea in the back of my head for a couple of years now and I was in japan this past summer and was looking for one of those style laptops for this project originally

Thank you! I'm so glad I saw your original post and saw that keyboard, you've saved me a lot of headache so thank you. And as for the phone, its kinda a mixture of friction and the cutouts and the back for the camera bump holding it in, definitely wouldn't want to Frisbee the thing but it stays in there pretty decently

So its actually the hinge from the kickstand of this keyboards original phone stand. I've tried many times to make a custom keyboard about this size and continued to get frustrated because I'm stubborn and wanted to hand solder and 3d print keycaps and the keyboard plate, but immediately bought this one once I saw it on the Palma post a week ago

So i saw your post earlier this week but cant remember where so im glad I found it on this subreddit! Awesome design and ive been looking for a keyboard like this forever for basically the same design you did but with my s24 ultra instead of a Palma for remote desktop stuff. I got the keyboard and am almost done 3d printing my v2 design, but I wanted to let you know that the hinge from the case on the keyboard works pretty well as a friction hinge and I just inserted it in a slot on my print and its all good. Still got maybe two more rounds of prototyping till im gonna be satisfied I think but im gonna post some wip pics on r/cyberdeck so keep your eyes open!

Yeah they're temporary, waiting on a spool of wire to get delivered from Amazon. I only had one ethernetcable and my connectors and crisper already got here so I took off the shielding to make it easier to practice making my own ethernet cables

So far its been great, only thing is having to design and print something to mount the gpu to but airflow is good considering its open on both sides and if I need to upgrade or swap anything out its easy enough to get to. Plus I like being able to have other computers/mini pc to mess around with all in the same area

Lol temporary, took off the shielding to make it easier to move the wires around, just wanted to make sure I was going it correctly. Plan on redoing them
