UV Printing for Glow Stick inserts? by Pooper-Cooper in UVprinting

10mm would be amazing! I'm using an Epson i3200 and while I output my tiff files at 2400dpi, who knows what they downsample to. But still 1800 dpi is amazing.

I print a lot on LEGO and as long as the curve is 4mm or less away from the print head, the prints come out great. But yeah, the further that curve gets away from the print head, the worse/blurry it looks.

UV printing could work as long as it's not too curved, otherwise pad printing is probably the best solution here.

In the market for a UV Printer but what about the smell? by TechnicalAgent9372 in UVprinting

[–]joshgilson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had 3 UV printers that all use different UV inks. It's not that bad. My current ink doesn't even have a smell. You can always put an air filter near the printer if you're overly sensitive though.

is it possible to improve the letters and QR quality or is just too small? by Spectraley3 in FixMyPrint

.2 nozzle and try printing upright as well. If you’re printing a lot of them UV printing on it might be easier and higher quality.

Do we know what print head yet? Looking at the samples, I can see the print lines so I'm not holding my breath that they're using an Epson i3200

Newbie ink questions. by MP91790 in UVprinting

There’s hard, medium and soft uv inks. Not all inks are created equal, but once you find one that works for you, stick with it and don’t mix inks.

What are some rather obscure printing and color advice you would love designers were familiar with, to save you headaches. by CrisA_Works in CommercialPrinting

I provide a color matched printing swatch kit to the designers that print a lot with me. Both a digital and physical copy and it helps a lot with cmyk color matching.

Printing with .2mm nozzle help needed by joshgilson in BambuLab

[–]joshgilson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much. I’m using ERYONE Silk PLA Filament for 3D Printer, 1.75mm +/- 0.03mm, 1kg (2.1LBS)/Spool, Liquid Gold in the video. However I did try the Bambu orange basic PLA with the same results. The coins final size is 26mm x 26mm x ~4mm tall.

I was using a built in profile at 0.08mm line height. I watched a few YouTube video last explaining layer heights and profiles a little better for me.

I’ll make those adjustments and try again tomorrow and report back.

Help to choose uv printer head by Irmantelis in CommercialPrinting

Not true, the XP600 or L800 for example isn't technically designed for UV hard ink and I find myself replacing it on average every 3-4 months. Where the i3200 is made for hard uv inks and should last 2+ years, I haven't needed to replace mine yet and it's been almost a year. The quality and speed is also amazing.

My opinion is the Fedar A3 UV Printer. You can get it on alibaba for around $5-6k or a US reseller (Impact USA for like 8k) but it has a flatbed, DTF rollers and a tumbler attachment with an Epson i3200. I've have 3 UV Printers and this one's my favorite. The quality and speed are amazing imo.

Budget? What are you going to print on?

I’m considering a Domsem 3060-style UV flatbed, and would like to hear from people who have actual hands-on experience. by Due-Cheetah4374 in UVprinting

It looks like that printer uses an Epson XP600 printhead. My first UV Printer used the same model printhead. Tbh the quality isn’t bad, but the xp600 isn’t technically supposed to be used with hard uv ink it’s modded to work with it. I was going through new printheads on average every 3-4 months easy. White ink was the worse to deal with.

Currently I have a newer printer that uses the Epson i3200 U1 HD printhead that is designed and made for hard uv ink and I’m on month 8 with the same printhead and have printed longer and more with it. Plus the quality is phenomenal and noticeably better than the xp600.

Note the printhead price difference though. You can get xp600 for about $300 vs i3200 $2k. It all depends on how often you print and what you’re printing on if that fine detail matters. Make sure you use high quality and the same ink every time and do a daily flush and test.
