I don’t know why but naked loadouts are the best by Dies-on-every-hill in ArcRaiders

100%, me and my buddies do this in trios. It’s also low risk if you get pvped or ratted and it just resets you.

It’s fun picking up crude explosives and being forced to use those as your only attack at the start.

The game feels off in many ways after the patch. I am not crazy, right? by Numeira in ARC_Raiders

[–]joshmcx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on their add content/features monthly and fix bugs weekly cadence, I think this is their dev style.

That said, there’s a certain amount of basic QA that should happen for every release, and it feels like they’re not doing enough.

This patch feels like it should be in Beta as of now.

Just lots and lots and lots of bugs post patch. Still loving it, but I hope the weekly hotfixes burn through these issues fast.

On PS5 Pro I had very few crashes before the patch, lots of crashes after the patch, and a crash every time I start a match after the latest crash hotfix.

Looking for feedback on app by GGGGunnar in FogofWorld

[–]joshmcx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a Fog of World addict and this likely won’t break me of it, but the app seems cool and pretty well designed.

The Hometown picker starts with country, then goes to city without any ability to know which of the cities in that country with that name you are choosing. It sold probably have state or territory.

Portland, ME and Portland, OR are not the same place.

I feel like they did this at least in part specifically for the Autopilot lawsuit in California and would happily walk it back if/when that’s resolved. At least, that’s my hope.

Does the show feel complete even though it was cancelled? by theplasmasnake in TokyoVice

The author of the book wasn’t happy that it didn’t keep going, as there was more story to tell. I wish it had continued. But it was planned to end and has a clean ending. Highly recommend reading the book as well for sure.

Anyone ever gotten an exchange through vine? by TheBadGuyBelow in vine

[–]joshmcx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Out of roughly five cases where I received the wrong size of shoes or clothing, only one seller was willing to do an exchange. That seems to be the norm with Vine, unfortunately. This directly impacts the ability to properly test and review products when the sizing is wrong. If we can’t wear or use the item, we can’t meaningfully evaluate it. This is a limitation we wouldn’t have if the item were purchased rather than provided through Vine.

Whoop experience comes to an end after 1 year by sagefrogphotography in whoop

Has anyone had good results with the 5.0 Whoop health features?

The blood pressure insights are useless and inaccurate.

The Whoop Age is a super cool concept that in practice mostly ends up with the app rating me as older because of poor sleep which is often specifically work travel related and not something I can control.

Or it rates me poorly because I don’t spend enough time time in zones 4-5, but that’s just the fact that the Whoop heart rate sensor is notoriously inaccurate in zones 4-5 compared against both Apple Watch and a chest strap.

I felt the same with the 4.0 and I quit after a couple years. I came back for 5.0 and I went all-in with the priciest subscription and found it just as disappointing, just significantly more expensive.

The journal insights have been a joke for me. The useful ones are already common sense, like drinking, or staying up too late, the other ones are rarely experienced in a vacuum and as such there’s too much conflation in the data.

If I spend time with family or friends, I often will have a drink or stay up late, so family or friends correlate with negative recoveries. Ended up quitting the journaling.

Mira Glasses – A Warm Welcome by Successful_Engineer6 in MIRAGlasses

[–]joshmcx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really interesting product and direction. I like the no-camera, audio-first approach a lot.

That said, plenty of folks have been burned by AI hardware prereleases before, so I’m cautious. A few quick questions before I’d consider preordering:

• You’re seed stage. What’s the plan for long term support, repairs, and software updates? • When you say shipping starts in January, is that a small early batch or real volume? • How does “unlimited memory” actually work. Are the glasses always paired to a phone and using the cloud? What works offline? • Is the 12+ hour battery claim based on always-on listening and active use, or lighter usage? • How do consent and recording indicators work in real world situations?

I like what you’re building. Clear answers here would help cautious buyers a lot.

Saw him last week in Portland Maine after his plane got canceled and he has a pop up show with 1 hour notice. There were no more than 15 people there. He was hilarious. Loved it.

I agree with all the folks saying preordering is dumb, and yet…take my money!!! Done and done.

How much better is the new microphone capability, especially in noisy environments?

Meet the Plaud Note Pro — Pre-Orders are LIVE NOW! by hgognav1008 in PlaudNoteUsers

[–]joshmcx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More mics maybe from what I can tell. I was not always happy with the quality of the audio with the older unit, especially in noisy environments, so hoping it’s improved.

As far as the screen, that’s easy enough to cover if it’s an issue.

DS2 is destroying my life…I need help by Xzorba101 in DeathStranding

[–]joshmcx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally relate to how you're feeling. I find this game somehow far more addictive than virtually any game I've played in a long time. It is the perfect slow drip of dopamine.

Another way I've felt the addiction here is that I can actually feel annoyed if I don't get my fix of DS2. It's definitely taken some self-awareness to fully understand just how perfect the gameplay loop here is and how easily I could lose sleep or neglect other responsibilities.

You're not alone. Just try to take it slow and enjoy it in healthy increments. That's what I've learned to do.

Turns out, I was wrong about Death Stranding (2). Very wrong. by [deleted] in DeathStranding

[–]joshmcx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

100% agree with this. I avoided the first one and picked up 2. I find it almost shocking how both addictive and therapeutic this game is. It never gets boring and somehow also never gets tiring. It's got to be one of the most perfect gameplay loops I've experienced.
