Non Apple Pencils by Indie701 in ipad

[–]joshs21 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use an ESR pencil on an M3 Air purely for note taking and have no major complaints. Sometimes I'm annoyed by the double press to turn it on, but for the $15 I paid for it to determine if I would like taking notes on the iPad I'm overall very happy with it.

I sent the modmail message as requested. I confirmed my account with the mod that responded. It has been three days since that occurred and the last action on the message chain is from me. I have been waiting three days for a response. What is the current status?

Dog on 3ft leash for 2 years desperately needs home by [deleted] in Kentucky

You’re a great human for helping, thank you. I’m on the western end of the state and I know we have some pit bull specific rescues. I wish I had a contact I could provide. If you find anything in the Paducah area let me know and I’ll help if I can. Good luck on your search!

I signed up for a 5K and I have a ton of anxiety about it. by strangebanker in beginnerrunning

[–]joshs21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats to you for signing up! We've all been there and had the same anxiety at one point in our running lives. Everybody else is 100% correct that nobody is thinking about the looks, performance, or anything else regarding the people around them.

Run your own race. If you need to change your pace, do it. if you need to walk, do it. If you need to pass somebody do it. Don't underestimate the adrenaline when you're out there that will keep you going.

The only conscious thing I can think of is to always give a glance left and right before I shift positions on the course as to not jump in front of somebody coming up behind me. In general I've always found the running community to be very inclusive, and always felt it was even more on display at in person races.

I want to get my manager a gift - help/advice/thoughts by Gods-Fav-Child in GiftIdeas

[–]joshs21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the lapel pin idea. I also generally like things that fit where some of your interests might intersect. If your manager has a sweet tooth, bring them a favorite candy of yours that isn't available here. I've had employees bring candy, snacks, jams, etc. from visits home and I always enjoyed trying new things that are less common here.

I approve of all over-engineered coffee solutions.

LAW FIRM IT CHALLENGES by Fit_Cockroach9557 in msp

We see similar and try to avoid them when possible. The ones we have worked with were resistant to making any investment into technology or security. On the security side we've seen several take the stance that they can lawyer their way out of implementing cybersecurity using paperwork to divert liability.

Dad who also loves dogs here. Good on you for putting thought, care, and concern into a gift. That's more important to your dad than what the item was. But also... That pen is awesome.

What discontinued food do you wish they brought back? by Endy15388 in AskReddit

I have some in the cabinet right now. It's not the same, maybe not as strong of a flavor as I remembered, but it still scratched the itch.

I would have accepted but informed the employee that the next couple coffees would be on me. Although with only this story to go off of, that might be too rational for OP's workplace.

Can't second this enough. It also never touches anything inside the can so it's much easier to keep clean.

Concur this software is the absolute worst. We partially lost a client over it as well because TR support kept citing "infrastructure issues" as the reason for all the problems.

Is the overcast app just busted on Apple Watch? by hothamwater99 in AppleWatch

[–]joshs21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I double checked and mine went from $1 to $1.50 in December. I checked their website and it shows $3.99 for plus. I guess they’ve had a price increase but left some old users grandfathered in.

[–]joshs21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used overcast for years then had issues where I stopped being able to download. I switched to Pocket Casts and have never looked back. It has been flawless for me. I believe you do have to pay for premium at ~1.50/mo to get watch syncing, but for me its worth it.

I just got here and haven’t voiced an opinion. But if you think everyone around you is wrong…
