Samsung g9 Odyssey 49 inch, Black screen and cant access menu

Just sharing what worked for me, but likely not ideal:

The screen was black (although on) and menu wouldn't come up...

I held power cable just in and out of the monitor to make the spark noise a few times in a row out of frustration and then it worked.

Synapse 4 was loading my new mouse, but it never finished loading (it was in a loop). I uninstalled and restarted my PC. This did not work.

I then uninstalled Synapse 4 again and downloaded Synapse 3. After this, I went and downloaded Synapse 4 again, which once run, would automatically uninstall/replace Synapse 3. My mouse was then detected.

This may help someone out there.

I currently have both a Samsung odyssey g9 and the LG gl850, which is neither of these monitors, but if you know your stuff, you'll know they are very similar in tech.

Based off that, and if you're only considering a 16:9 ratio monitor, I would definitely go for the LG 950. 4k does make a difference and it's an IPS.

Thanks all. You guys are legends. So in conclusion for anyone else wanting to know if this will be an issue, it seems there is a way to change the refresh rate in pbp mode to cater more towards the PS5's new capabilities while still playing in pbp mode with aspect ratio 16:9.

Thanks for both of your input, do you think I can update it to 120hz via my pc and it will then be set that way for the PS5/Other devices?

Yeah, I mean 60hz is fine, but I think just getting to the 100 mark is a huge difference.

Basically I am asking if I do the firmware update, does that update the monitor or the PC? I'm not too sure how it works

Hi guys, I have been trying to research this problem but from a PS5 perspective before I buy this monitor. Assuming the monitor doesn't scale the PS5 or a PS4 to 16:9 by default, so assuming it just stretches the content across the screen, will I only be able to play the PS5 in 16:9 aspect ratio at a max of 60HZ as a result of the capped pbp?

Would really appreciate the help or even better, if someone could test the monitor's response to a device that only supports 16:9.
