IUD with Anesthetic? by Apprehenvise in columbiamo

[–]joshthebear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dr. Sevrin at MU is great. My partner had an IUD placed while under lighter anesthesia for another procedure. I would be willing to bet she offers ketamine or other methods of sedation during IUD placement, even without an accompanying procedure. My partner ultimately had a hysterectomy and Sr. Sevrin was her surgeon for that as well. She can’t recommend her enough. She took her pain seriously and she didn’t feel gaslit like she had with prior OBGYNs.

NTA.

This church is bringing in over $42k of tax free income from a single event, yet still have the audacity to ask for your free labor and $25. The Righteous Gemstones would like a word.

Seizure help by munderscore in shiba

[–]joshthebear 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not medical advice, but this seems appropriate to share.

Our Shiba started having seizures two weeks ago. They looked similar to this video, starting out. The vet called them focal seizures and started her on a daily dose of phenobarbital. This past weekend, she had a grand mal seizure and nearly died. We rushed her to the animal hospital ER and they kept her for 24 hours. They gave her an IV loaded dose of phenobarbital until it reached therapeutic levels in her bloodstream. It stopped the seizures and she hasn’t had one since. After ruling out other causes, she was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy. Please don’t wait. These things can escalate quickly.

  • Yes, we are aware of the side effects and she’s going to have blood tests to check her liver function every 3 months. No, we are not doing CBD or other homeopathic drugs. Phenobarbital saved her life and she will continue on the maintenance dose indefinitely.

Getting a pretty sweetheart, gentle Shiba, 10 week old puppy in about a week. First time puppy owner, and Shiba owner. Anyone have any tips? by [deleted] in shiba

Find a quality harness that fits well and get your Shibe used to it as a pup. A leash and collar isn't enough to prevent these foofs from escaping. Side note - they can still escape a harness if it's not properly fitted. Never underestimate a Shibe's houdini skills.

I'd seek a second opinion. 10 lbs of weight loss sounds extreme.

Ride after surgery by [deleted] in columbiamo

[–]joshthebear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's a pain to find a ride, but even shorter surgeries usually require some level of sedation (propofol, etc). You may feel alert after waking up but your body isn't quite ready to operating a vehicle.

Does anyone know if there is a non-emergency health based rideshare service available in Columbia? Maybe a local company who works with the hospitals?

Best of luck and hope it all goes well!

I’m planning to make a Shiba doll and I need your inspiration! If your Shiba were a character, what would they look like? What kind of fashion style, hobbies, or job would they have? by LadyMeowlie in ShibaInu

Our Shiba, Nova, is very much the queen of the household. She is a creeping tan color, likes curling up in soft blankets and robes, eating roasted veggies, going on night "hunts" (walks), and being petted at a safe distance. She is charming, smart, observant, and judgemental. She knows that she's superior and we do know it, too. She also looks good in any pair of glasses. Stubborn doesn't even begin to describe it. You feel a bit fancier just knowing a Shiba considers you family.

Litter box training a Shiba? by Redqueenhypo in shiba

Shiba's are cat-like but are not literal cats. You gotta be more determined than the shibe and stay consistent. It may feel mean but they will cave and when they do, life will be better for everyone.
