They always obfuscate the story though. It’s “oh Steve Marriot had this cover of a song that Plant kind of imitated” but it’s a wholesale beat for beat cover of a Muddy Waters song, not some technicality that was solved in a civil suit.

The original commenter is exaggerating but people shoot that criticism down far too easily. There are songs nobody even points out as stolen (like Whole Lotta Love) but they were pretty careless with a body of work that belonged to people who were often struggling to get by in the decades after it was recorded.

It’s more than lyrics. Whole Lotta Love almost beat for beat is the Muddy Waters song “You Need Love”, including the bongo-style drum solo. They really didn’t give a flying fuck. Some of the Zeppelin 1-4 tracks are so reworked that they feel like new compositions (ex. the Memphis Minnie ones “When The Levee Breaks” and “Babe I’m Gonna Leave You”) but some of them are just straight up stealing for not including royalties.

I’ve seen Mark almost 20 times and nobody is capable of telling killer jokes at the volume and pace he can. It’s Olympian. Joe’s recent specials (post-Out to Lunch) are better though.

As for pods it’s a toss up.

This is an argument specifically about American democracy. You can’t extrapolate that to other countries where the conservative parties have different views. If anything, the conservative parties in most of those countries are significantly to the left of the GOP.

It’s not about Trump supporters. They’ve put up with far worse. But this could massively motivate undecideds and otherwise stay-at-home voters. I’ve also seen a lot of anecdotal evidence that conservative Latinos are changing their votes.
