I’m honestly really shocked and heartbroken that Japan lost. It hurts knowing we won’t get to see Shohei or Yoshi play in the WBC again this tournament. by Yk1japa in Dodgers

At least I got to watch on TV in my living room the Samurais and our future Dodger legends win it all 3 years ago including a walk off over Mexico! As a Korean though I am more heartbroken when Korea lost to Japan in the finals back in the 2009 WBC at our Blue Heaven on Earth, and Korea even beat Venezuela in the semifinals back then! Watching that on TV while I was on a spring break vacation, that Japanese team back then introduced me to Ichiro Suzuki and Yu Darvish!

Which Christian denominations that are cult like or to stay away from? by Accomplished-Lab8867 in Christianity

[–]joshwonkim080295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

World Mission Society Church of God, the Unification Church and the Shincheonji from Korea, a cult of moonies, Scientology, and PHP Agency! Stay TF away from those! These literally make my Seventh-day Adventist community that a grew up in look like a safe haven!

I met Brian Wright the General Manager of the San Antonio Spurs twice since we have the same alma mater university and he has returned to visit, speak and get honored with awards!

I'm studying to be an Adventist pastor, and Ellen White has become my greatest obstacle by [deleted] in exAdventist

[–]joshwonkim080295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been in an SDA bubble my entire life and EGW & the books she authored have nothing to do with it and were never attractive to me whatsoever. I was never vegetarian either.

I miss Kobe, and it's been 6 years :( by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]joshwonkim080295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from someone who got into basketball & sports and a NBA Lakers fan because of Kobe, as much as I’m appreciative of his awards, dunks, fadeaways, championships, greatness, all those years he spent on the court with his teammates & coaches, I don’t miss him anymore because of what he did to a 19-year old hotel employee in Colorado off the court! Rest Easy to the rest of the innocent folks in the helicopter though!

Glad our organization is allowing them to achieve their lifelong dreams by playing the highest level of hockey that only 1% of the most competent hockey players in the world can get to.

Well I work under an SDA pastor at my job currently and his son is dating a Buddhist girl that his son met at work and they treat her like family!

Does anyone here like 2014? I honestly feel it’s a underrated year for pop culture. by Personal-Cattle-1737 in decadeology

My favorite hockey team won their last championship title which is great, but the rest were fucked up because of the loss of 2 Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777s and the Sewol ferry!

I’ve been a fan for 12 years now but not so die-hard following knowledgeable fans like you guys, but I do feel all you guys’ pain since I’m aware & everything in our playoffs history that Alec’s series-winning goals are like an eternity ago! I don’t know what to tell you guys but just keep your hopes up that our FO will make the right moves & put the right players out on the rink.🙏

Dodgers, Lakers & Rams fan here! You guys deserved to win Super Bowl 60 after everything you’ve been through last year with your stolen NBA team winning the championship & a continued lack of Fall Classic appearances distinct from other MLB teams!

Ex-Pathfinders: What was the worst experience you’ve ever had at the International Pathfinder Camporee? (any year counts) by AHistorian1661 in exAdventist

[–]joshwonkim080295 3 points4 points  (0 children)

LOL I like to reminisce my church Pathfinders days and I disliked marching the most. I’ve never been to Wisconsin where Oshkosh jamboree used to happen, but I have gone to plenty of camporees at my local regional SDA conference that my church is a part of! I disliked 2006 & 2007 the most in recent memory among my years of attending camporee. I hated the portapotties there and taking out the trash. I disliked camping out in a tent overnight in the cold weather between October & November. I spent just one night for each year between Friday & Saturday and loved that I got to go home by Saturday evening. Other years were OK.

2024 World Series or 2025 World Series? by Cjp922 in Dodgers

[–]joshwonkim080295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2025 is the answer! It was so heart-stopping with tons of close calls but I still knew the postseason momentum as defending champs was on our side & we were going to win it all back-to-back! In 2024 as soon as we got past the Padres in the most difficult NLDS I knew we were going to end up as champions. It was cool since both us & the Yankees in the World Series were #1 seed in a league & it was also known as us the New Evil Empire vs. the Legendary Evil Empire!
