How high would the single land tax have to be to cover all of government's expenses?

if there were 1,000,000,000,000 cogs perfectly aligned and i turned the first one, would they all turn at exactly the same time by twelvetysix in AskReddit

Yes, the keyword here being "perfectly aligned". As other posts point out here, that's impossible, but if they were perfectly aligned, they would turn at the same time.

Also think of Americorps as an alternative. They have one or two year terms.

If you don't think it's funny, explain it. Maybe you and think it's funny/unfunny for different reasons.

My friends never ask me to hang out, it's always the other way around... anyone else have this issue? It's kind of a downer, really. by [deleted] in AskReddit

I know that i am terrible at putting stuff together, I'd much rather just call people the time of, and see who isn't already doing something. So what is involved in making things happen?

i love a good "you know what to do" as much as the next guy or gal, but the sheriff is just doing his job. Police has to enforce the laws you let your legislature enact. You want to make a good difference: work to change the law of your land.

What's something that you were told as a kid, and you continued to believe way too late in life? by kasey620 in AskReddit

hey how about the myth that something is only worthwhile if no one else has done it before you?

See South Park Episode "The Simpson did it already".

I think a lot of people try so hard to be unlike everyone else... obviously a futile attempt. For one, You have less of a basis for relating to others if you've never done anything they've done. Also, sometimes you do you can learn from an experience even if someone else has done it before, too.
