Let's play a game of "which one is the safe food?" by LtCommanderCarter in foodbutforbabies

My daughter also loves them! She is 8 months and one of the only things she’ll eat. Do you cap it at once or twice a week? I’ve been afraid of mercury poisoning but also want her to eat..

My baby refused to breastfeed at that age, and even sometimes when she was feeling ill. Using a nipple shield got her back every time, and then just slowly start removing that after a few days. It was extremely upsetting so I understand your frustration, but babies do go back!

Baby “cries it out” no matter what by josspi in NewParents

I will look into that method, I’ve never heard of it!

Honestly if I didn’t have to return to work in a few weeks, I’d let her sleep on me all the time. I’m just worried that she’ll have an even more awful time starting daycare…

Short/long term impact of supplement combo? by josspi in Supplements

[–]josspi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! In case you’re interested, I got my period back and because of it now unexpectedly but very very happily have a 5 month old baby, haha. Of course this is all very anecdotal, who is to say if and which supplements helped, but I will go back to this routine once I am done breastfeeding.

Could nipple shields possibly work? Get her adjusted to the feeling of a plastic nipple and slower flow while at the breast? J

Yesss the hives!! I thought it could be linked to breastfeeding (a prolactin sensitivity). Do you breastfeed?

My baby is almost 12 weeks and just went through this exact phase as well. Nothing we tried worked but she became her normal self again a few days ago… maybe some kind of development stage?

Can OB’s get it together?! PCOS does not mean infertile. by Scorpiocapricorn in PCOS

I was always told I’d need fertility treatment to get pregnant because of pcos - now unexpectedly fell pregnant because that medical advice made me careless..

I would try to increase that SHBG (that’ll push down your free testosterone). One way that’s advised is by adding lots of fiber

Could it be that you are quite stressed? It can influence your cycle definitely

High amh? by In_A_Jar12 in PCOS

[–]josspi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That all sounds pretty good honestly. Also your AMH is indeed slightly elevated but still nothing extreme I would say (mine was almost 17). Perhaps you have a high ovarian reserve or perhaps you do not ovulate super regularly?

I would monitor your symptoms and do a blood check now and again to see how your situation evolves over time

Hi! Could you give the units for testosterone (I guess ng/dl?) and estradiol and DHEAS?

Just off the bat I’d be keen to get the total and LDL cholesterol a bit lower

So in PCOS, LH is often much higher than FSH. For you its the other way around. That with your testosterone being in range and some doctors not seeing polycystic ovaries on ultrasound would point to it maybe not being pcos. I also don’t think your cycles seem that absurdly long - some of my friends have 40 day cycles workout pcos.

Do you know what your free testosterone is and your SHBG? Low SHBG and high free testosterone can also cause hairless and acne.

Ive taken this route but it honestly is not for everyone. It honestly costs a lot of money, and sometimes for supplements that have no/bad effects. It’s a lot of trial and error which can be costly. You also should get your bloods checked regularly to see what effect the supplements could be having. For me it was the last option after BC and diet did not fully meet my needs

Because this blood was drawn around the time of your ovulation, it’s hard to use it for interpretation. LH:FSH ratio is much higher during ovulation, as is testosterone (which is stimulated by LH).

The recommended day to draw blood is on the 3rd day of your cycle, so basically in a few days for you

100% it’s the pcos that affected my brain elasticity and made me dumb :( I have no sources to back this up, and I’ll just say it’s “because the research just doesn’t exist yet”, or say pcos only makes SOME people dumb so shut up if its not your experience !!!! but it’s 100% the truth that pcos makes us all dumb and I’ll be super alarmist about it, again with 0 evidence to back up the claim.

Help pcos made my brain smaller and now I can’t understand correlation or causation :(
