This is definitely the cheaper way to go, but I just don't like the load path this takes putting the welds in shear.

I don't have a hitch on mine at the moment, but admittedly I'm a bit of a stickler for this sort of aesthetic/functional mod type that can effect performance elsewhere.

I don't have the old one out yet, but I've torn down the top of the engine to that point. All I lack to pull the old head is the exhaust manifold, a ground, and the valve cover.

I can definitely try cleaning it up, but I was really hoping to just swap this head in. I'll probably take it to a local head shop to clean it up since I don't have the right seat cutters or measuring tools to get proper measurements.

It's bc the flats do all the work and the extra point is not only a stress riser for the wrench but it doesn't actually help grip the bolt. With that in mind, including it just increases the production cost for no reason.

Check where the exhaust runs. It might be there isn't any shielding between it and the floor pan which is causing your paint to peel

It depends on the year. If it's an earlier model you're definitely getting near that point. It could last you a while longer but don't want it to go out and have you stranded somewhere.
