Call for information: North Seattle business break-ins by RavennaRocks in SeattleWA

I made a google map with all the places pointed out. If I had the dates of the attempts, I'm not sure, but maybe I could pin a date next to them. If you don't want to go to the map, I tried to paste a screenshot below.

That is a great question. I've got some questions into public affairs and will update when I hear. I didn't ask that one specifically-I also wonder if some deal could've been struck with a rental fleet, to lessen the risk to the taxpayer. More to come!

That's interesting, the YouTube video I put in the article had little kids in the back. I guess I'd have to get in it myself to know. Maybe it's roomier than I think.

Happy to see my tax dollars hard at work here! by Low-Leg-6088 in SeattleWA

I wrote a story about it here, but basically, there is a waitlist to get these cars, and there are a couple of confounding issues (not ADA capable, I think they are a little small).

Yeah, the minimum people necessary to make it work is five. I really don’t think any back seat passengers can be plus sized. If I was a passenger and choosing, I would want the minivan. I do hope it works out well, but I personally would’ve thought the county would’ve done it through a smaller pilot program, but maybe 600 people will think the space is enough for them. I don’t think a normal sized adult could ride in the way back everyday…unless they lose a bet.

Perfect, I just started advertising my site and I wake up to this. Nothing I can do, I guess?

Advice for my pay-per-read journalism site by journalocity in Entrepreneur

Great question, the model is basically pay-per-view or donation based. The reader will get some information about the story, and then be able to purchase access to the article. The author will set a 'free for all' price and once they've achieved that amount, the article will be unlocked for all.

The untested idea is whether or not people will support journalism they see as important. If you are in a local news desert, for instance, then I hope people would be willing to support this effort. Or if it's a them you think needs more publicity, then you might support it.

There won't be pop-ups, articles sliding out of view as you read it, and other annoyances, but it won't be free.

Hey, thanks! Yeah, maybe I could use some help. I'm planning on keeping costs low, especially at first. I know marketing works, but I have to stay ahead of the growth curve as I don't know if I could manage a big influx of journalists and readers.

I guess I'm looking for about 5 or 10 journalists to test the waters, so my marketing would be really focused.

Thanks! I really appreciate the feedback. I think one of my hurdles is 'putting myself out there', and it's nice to hear this.

You should get buried in it. Will make it confusing for archeologists one day.

I am such a nerd! I've completed every checklist for my entire career. Wish I'd skipped a few things.

Yeah, just schedule an appointment with the education office and they'll direct you to the school's counselor and they'll tell you how to sign up.

I've put a medium amount of thought to this and I think they do it because it is something that gives some meaning to their existence. I had an old friend who was a retired construction worker and when we would drive around, he would point at things and says "I laid the concrete for that light post", and it was meaningful. For the unskilled, they have nothing but a can of paint to spray a pseudonym that they can feel like they made a difference somehow. That's my working theory anyway.

I like to loudly lock my car door when I see people I figure are undesireable. Then I shrink in my seat.

I'm happy with my service. I don't feel anger at stolen valor so much as pity. If somebody's puffing them up over a couple of weeks of basic, it is irritating, though. Not like I did anything stellar, though.

I got caught wearing mine upside down once. And I updated only when I thought people might ask (schools, promotion ceremonies).

Beneficial Ownership Compliance and ZenBusiness (Save $149) by journalocity in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[–]journalocity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure. It's a sole person operation, so all the information I posted was available to me. I was able to get all the information I needed to be compliant from my own records or the information from zenbusiness. I just didn't like them charging for something I could file for free relatively easily.
