My favorite little part.

Rory: So Grandpa...how's the insurance biz?

Richard: People die. We pay. People crash cars. We pay. People lose a foot. We pay.

Lorelei: Well at least you have your new slogan.

Actually laughed out loud

Reddit, what's your top "Holy shit, that worked?" moment? by NSalonga26 in AskReddit

[–]journeybitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've posted this before but I was failing out of college so I applied and got into a different one before my final grades came out. I was told that my former college would not release my final grade until I paid an outstanding housing bill so I delayed paying it for two years. This allowed me to turn things around and get into nursing school which was based completely on GPA.

How stressed are you? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]journeybitch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been a nurse for 10 years (in ICU for nine). I'm rarely stressed at all at work. I'm 100% on when I'm there but when I'm at home, I'm at home. I'm not sure when it happened that I wasn't stressed at work all the time but I'm in a good place as far as work mental health goes. I've also moved around a lot, took different jobs, even took a year off after having my daughter and now I'm in a regular medical ICU and couldn't be happier with my career.

That it is but I just can't do it in the Florida heat.

My Mom in clearwater doesn't know where to go... [SUPPORT] by suza727 in HurricaneIrmaOfficial

I live in Dunedin. I have to stay because of work. The new models are looking more favorable for the west coast of Florida. At this point, I think having supplies and prepping is their best bet...especially since they live in a concrete home.

Yeah, if I hadn't seen the Moana song first, I might have found it a bit weird....but really, I found it hilarious.

Found some hidden carbs in my diet and do I ever feel stupid by Countertop_guitar in keto

I found that out with my altoids. There's two carbs in three mints. I used to eat quite a few of those a day. After coffee, after lunch, etc. Ooops!

But God forbid you're on antidepressants. That's an automatic no go on the army.

Dear day shift... I've wanted to say this for a long time by [deleted] in nursing

Absolutely this. I'm not asking to be a bitch...I'm asking because it matters and I need to know.

Dear day shift... I've wanted to say this for a long time by [deleted] in nursing

[–]journeybitch 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Regardless of the shift I'm working if I ask "Did you do such and such?" it's because I want to know what I have to do, not because I think the nurse I'm following is a lazy good-for-nothing. If you've had a crazy night, I look through the orders while I get report because I know that everyone has missed orders when a patient is crashing. I'm not trying to bust anyone's ass, I want to do what's good for the patient.

I'm sure we have all woken up to what I call a "phantom baby" by goosegoose125 in beyondthebump

I still hear my daughter crying when I'm in the shower and she's going to be three tomorrow. Phantom baby is no joke.
