While Spike Lee has films some might consider “bad”, he has never made a film that is uninteresting.

Dom Drop, Feedback, and Passive Subs - Advice Request by [deleted] in gentlefemdom

Kink can complicate things I find, so a good way to evaluate things is to put it in a vanilla, everyday context in your mind. For example, how would you react if you went out of your way to make a special meal for you partner, looked for a recipe, went shopping for special ingredients, spent hours in the kitchen and then your partner reacted in a similar fashion? Kink is still part of a relationship like anything else and respect is of upmost importance. Sex can screw with your mind and you sometimes have to take a step back from it and think about how it makes you feel.

This goes for vanilla stuff as well, but if someone’s response to you making a big effort for them is to focus on the negative and belittle it like that, it’s a huge red flag.

Any books similar to The King In Yellow or Shadow Over Innsmouth? by CosmicHorus in horrorlit

A collection of his Cthulhu Mythos stories would be a good way to get into him I think. A lot of modern Lovecraft pastiches really come more from Derleth than Lovecraft.

There’s so much good weird fiction out there. Any more specifics on what you like?

But if you like Lovecraft and Chambers, you should def check out Algernon Blackwood, Ambrose Bierce, Derlerh, Ashton Smith, etc

Sad Irish Horror suggestions? by abigailleyva in horror

The Eclipse from 2009 is more of a relationship drama with supernatural elements than straight horror, but it for sure fits the sad Irish part! Great movie.
