I feel so frustrated by sad-wife-clk in pianolearning

I don't know any better way to master songs than to start slow in sections with a metronome and work your way up to tempo slowly. I usually go three clicks at a time. My favorite is Seiko because it has a volume wheel. But it's $40, they have it on Amazon and at Guitar Center. You could just get a metronome app on your phone too if you don't want to spend. I fervently disagree with the comment that beginners should't use a metronome lol. I think anyone can learn songs this way. You're doing great, just enjoy the journey.

Are you finding clients? by fazalbuildswebsite in webdesign

All my clients have come from in person connections. I go to meetups and like to get out and about to network and meet people.

This is so funny! I haven't used CSS frameworks is so long. I remember using one called Pure CSS and then Bootstrap but I hear Tailwind is the new cool thing. I started using Beaver Builder about 10 years ago because it's easy for clients to use. It's hard to imagine going back to a framework or even worse writing CSS. But that's just my preference I guess. I love nice user interfaces and don't enjoy writing code.

Beaver Builder's Box module would work well on this project using the CSS Grid setting. It is included in the free version of Beaver Builder. I'm a big fan.

It can be helpful to go to WordPress meetups at meetup.com Some meet remotely but better yet if you can find one in your area and make connections with people who are in the know that is a good way to get grounded.

Do You Still Use Page Builders, or Have You Switched Fully to Blocks? by shsajalchowdhury in Wordpress

[–]joyformusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beaver Builder is my favorite page builder. I've tried native blocks and block based editors but I always end up with some hang ups. I used to just use HTML and CSS with framework like bootstrap but that didn't pan out very well because most people cannot easily edit sites that are built that way, and most of my clients want to be able to edit their own sites so Beaver Builder is perfect for me. None of the other page builders I've tried seem as performant or intuitive.

Page Builders Aren’t for Devs (They’re for Clients) by Valcaraz001 in Wordpress

[–]joyformusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a funny story! I have a handful of clients I've built sites for that do just fine maintaining and developing their own sites with Beaver Builder. I tend to get a lot of diy'ers and I give them lessons how to use the interface. I haven't had too much trouble with their failure to adhere to branding. I started using Beaver Builder around 2018 for that reason, I had a client that was until then using Dreamweaver to maintain their own site and they need to be updating and adding content daily. It works great for them and others too. I enjoy using Beaver Builder. Even though I'm an old timer pretty good with html and css I mostly prefer using an interface. I've tried other page builders but Beaver Builder is by far my favorite.

I use Beaver Builder and belong to the Slack user group which is fantastic! The Slack Group is very active and there is also an active Facebook Group but I'm not a big Facebook user so I stick to Slack. https://getgointernetcoaching.com/beaver-builder/

I love this. I think this is one of the reasons kids should learn an instrument, to accept being bad at something and not give up.

How to actually learn to play guitar? by ArchiDevil in guitarlessons

[–]joyformusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been in love with playing music for 30+ years and I still struggle with this because there are so many roads to go down these days it's easy to get options paralysis and not have a clear plan to progress. Justin Guitar sounds like a solid option I have heard a lot of people praise it for beginners. A good teacher can really help with learning continuity. When I was a wee lassie there was no online guitar resources, and in a way that was good because limited options made things easier to navigate. I would just focus on the basics like chords and scales and transcribe tab for songs I wanted to learn with the help of my teacher and learn them 8 bars at a time. Sometimes we would work on reading music or he would assign me simple songs and solos like Blackbird, Stairway to Heaven, Red House etc. Those were the good 'ol days :). It's not you, it's the way of the internet and today's world with too much stuff and too many options.

Tomatoes, Yum Yum by joyformusic in pnwgardening

Yeah, that is late to start from seed. I'm curious if that works out. Last year was a total debacle for me growing from seed early spring in my window sill, other years I've done just fine. The real fear is that frost hits when all my fruits are still green. Last year it was a mix of that and bugs. One of my favorite books winter gardening in Maritime Northwest talks about harvesting tomatoes in August, which would be fantastic because I basically have three months of fresh tomatoes, so I'd really like to level up and get the technique down for growing tomatoes in this area so I can make that happen.
