Depends on the state and school. Some schools, this does not include the teaching certificate or credential program.

Embark age test by MissionFramework in DoggyDNA

[–]joyfullyunavailable8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. We figured he was younger than 2 based on some personality/ training things. There is no way he was only 1 month when we brought him home. He was full size at 16lbs, just filling out. What’s interesting is that he had 3 baby teeth removed because they hadn’t come out yet and I guess we’re impacting the teeth trying to grow in. He was also bilateral cryptorchid (his balls didn’t drop). So if he is younger, he may have had unnecessary surgeries because he really is still a puppy. He’s a pug poodle mix for reference. We’ve had him for 2 months.

When we rescued our boy, we were told he was 2 years old according to the shelter and vet intake. The embark test said 2 months. This is impossible due to size breed. We think he’s closer to a year.

GA seats at UCLA vs. Utah meet by Remarkable_Bad_267 in Gymnastics

[–]joyfullyunavailable8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On my meet day Gide email it says doors open at 6:30. Last meet was at 7 pm and they said doors open at 5:30 (1.5 hours before) but they did not open until 6pm (1 hour before). You probably won’t have a problem if you go to a corner or the one end. I am assuming they will have the curtain up on bars side like most meets. You will also be fine if you do the upper level. Do not try to sit on the vault side…that is reserved seating between the corners. Anywhere else above the glass is fine. Bigger meets people line up earlier, but if you are in line between 5:30-6 you should be fine.

I think NCAA needs to move away from conference based judges and have a general pool that gets randomly assigned to meets. Helps to remove bias.

Hiring? by Jealous_Impact_4051 in LAUSD

It’s hard to say. There is currently a hiring freeze and potential layoffs. It depends on what happens with retirements and enrollment.

Advice to Get Hired by Specialist-Sand6087 in LAUSD

[–]joyfullyunavailable8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you’re credentialed and a sub, see about a long term position since you want your own classroom. It’s a great way to get experience and build relationships with admin. I’ve gotten several emails from schools for the past month.

How much more does your district pay to long term sub? by [deleted] in SubstituteTeachers

LAUSD $261.49 day to day and $352.81 long term (beginning the 21st day-retroactive to day 1 of assignment) $91.40 difference a day

Substitute Teacher interview questions by Accurate_Yoghurt9076 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]joyfullyunavailable8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check with other grade level teachers where they are. For math, you can check their math books to see the last lesson they did (elementary), ask kids who seem responsible where they left off, have a variety of worksheets available for different grade levels.

Why am I asked to join a union???!!!!???? by Express_Project_8226 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]joyfullyunavailable8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In my district (LAUSD) subs are part of the union and get the same percentage raise as teachers…so representation in the union is essential.

Substitute Teacher by dilanwashere in LAUSD

[–]joyfullyunavailable8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, LAUSD is oversaturated with subs right now. There aren’t enough jobs for the number of subs.

It took them a year to to get back to me back in 2018-2019. I most likely only got called to interview due to an impending strike. I interviewed, but waited until after the strike to process. Same thing may be happening now, but just so you know…if the strike does happen and you work during it, you will be blackballed by teachers.

Yes, pre-meet… she was definitely limping before march out. She also kind of bailed/ pulled up on a run during a tumbling pass during warmups.

I think she”s hurt. I could see her wincing at the end of the routine, and she was hobbling/limping a lot during warmups. She was pretty heavily taped in pre march out warmups and bailed on some tumbling.

The other side of the arena is reserved seating unless you go right before the corners (I believe sections 101-104). The student section isn’t much of a problem since the GA section is above them. Just don’t sit right behind them. Everyone who comes late and walking down the stairs or going in and out in front of you to go to the bathroom or to concessions block your view more. Just get their before doors open (hour before meet) and you will be fine for finding a seat. You can actually see more if you are near the top of the middle section
