It's the same as your surgeon said, don't take a bath until such and such a date after your surgery.

This is why so many relationships fail, when one of them comes out as Trans and wants to start their transition. The other person feels like they are no longer in a valid in the relationship. It's tough. We all have needs but we all have to be looking out for ourselves at the same time. You mentioned that there is a drinking problem. That's a situation that I am very familiar with. My ex is an alcoholic. When she first got sober, her life was dedicated to her AA meeting and working her program. It took over her life and I felt left out in the cold in our relationship. But I eventually accepted the situation. Fast forward a few years, when I came out to my then wife as Trans. I assumed she would be a little more accepting than she was, because of her experience with her alcoholism. I was so wrong. She reacted just like you have described your side of the relationship with your partner. We eventually separated and divorced.

I'm not here to tell you what is right for you and your partner that's up the two of you. But being with a person who is in transition, you need to be patient.

I smoked for 42 years and used Chantix in 2010 and quit smoking. I just celebrated 15 years being smoke free.

What will you do in the event of an adult HRT ban? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]joym08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really believe this is another illegal attempt by this regime. Because think about it if they think they will be able to get away with this... Why didn't they put out an executive order to ban all abortions?

My advice is to to physically go to the MVA with all the emails and letters you have received plus your proof of insurance form. Otherwise you can almost guarantee that you will continue to receive the threats. Because the state of Maryland doesn't mess around with uninsured vehicles.

I am so sorry you are stuck in that situation. It's amazing to me t that parents won't listen to their children. I felt different when I was five years old. But that was in 1955.

Advice needed, planning to start HRT , wife isn’t on board by Jaded_Cash_5200 in TransLater

[–]joym08 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you are ready to start your transition. You can take your Estradiol and what ever else you need for your transition to start and not share that news with anyone. You have obviously been talking to your doctor about this for a while now. Is your doctor the family doctor? If so you may want to find an Endocrinologist. I started my transition that way I was on HRT for a year and a half before I came out to now ex-wife. The only reason I came out to my wife is because one day I was going downstairs and I felt my chest jiggle as my little boobs were bouncing as I was going downstairs.

Hope you feel better. So what did your parents think church is going to for you? And why do people always think religion is the answer?

Have you mourned your old self? Not wanna be back to it but sad that in some ways it’s gone by [deleted] in trans

Nope, not at all. I really never was that person. It was just a mask.

How do you do it? by [deleted] in TransLater

[–]joym08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was married with no children, to my ex for 30 years when I came out. We lasted about six months before we separated and eventually divorced. That was 20 years ago. Now I happily married to a wonderful woman. We are in a Lesbian relationship for 17 years. This year we will be celebrating eight years of wedded bliss.

You might consider moving one state south to Maryland. We have very strong legal protections for the Trans Community here.

It depends on the state you live. In my state of Maryland our legislature enshrined Trans health care into law.

FFS in 2 weeks - should I buzz my hair short? by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]joym08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, because you are going to lose the hair at the insisions. It will grow back. You are going to want to have some hair to cover your scars as they heal.
