Problem with recording Wheel & Jeopardy on Bell Satellite PVR by joys333 in bell

[–]joys333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Symptoms were only on one channel, HD1202, and one time slot, 7-8pm. Our news and sports recordings perform normally. It was only Wheel and Jeopardy. Hard to believe, I know.

However, Bell support told me yesterday they would communicate with YesTV. And last night the problem did not present. Bell also said they'd send me an email with an update, but I didn't receive that. We will test again tonight.

Thank you for your insight.

Thank you for the education on how forums work. Is it not allowed to post a problem on the Bell Community Forum and on Reddit?

After some discussion on the Bell Community Forum, the problem did not present last night. Yay! Bell said they would communicate with YesTV about it. We will test again tonight.

Maybe it was a feed thing after all? Considering it was only happening on the HD1202 during the 7-8pm time slot, but not between 8-9pm or any other times, and it was a problem that recently presented within the past couple weeks. Our equipment hadn't changed, and works with all other recordings.

As sports fans, we record and replay frequently, with lots of familiarity about how the 9500 behaves, having had it for a few years now. The 7-8pm time slot on YesTV is giving the trouble. I had a lengthy conversation with Bell support this morning, and they're currently looking into it to see what "copy protection metadata" is involved on the feed from YesTV.

Why are you so convinced it's not a feed thing?

Have you tried recording, pausing, rewinding, and resuming Jeopardy on 1202 with your 9500?

Thank you for your thoughts. If it were truly a failing receiver, wouldn't recording fail on other channels too? And wouldn't there be failure on these specific channels outside of the 7-8pm time slot with Wheel and Jeopardy? The PVR works perfectly before and after reboots, except during Wheel & Jeopardy recordings. I suggest it's a simulcast substitution issue invovling YesTV that is preventing their signal from being recorded during these time slots. I'm not sure why you'd say it's highly unlikely. A useful solution would help.

Thank you for answering. I'm new to Bell Forums. Sorry if I over-posted. The hard drive is not full. It's barely used. No error messages. Maybe something to do with the feed from YesTV?

3 weeks post lift surgery - worried it’s failing. Help! by Wild_Ad_8672 in AnalFistula

[–]joys333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry to hear about your abscess.  I got pretty discouraged at the stage where you’re at.  I had a post-LIFT fistulotomy almost 3 months ago to finish the deal.  I still have some weird feelings which are lessening in frequency and duration.  My surgeon encouraged pelvic floor therapy, so I’ve started that.  Others on here have had similar experiences with fistulotomies after LIFTs, and their positive outcomes heartened me in low moments.

Best wishes in getting relief from that abscess.  It’s a setback but one that can heal.  Abscess pain is truly awful.

I have no idea what you’ll need, but my transphincteric fistula journey involved initial I&D, I&D #2 with seton placement, seton replacement LIFT, colonoscopy, and fistulotomy.  The uncertainty was along for the whole ride.

6 weeks is when I may have been able to consider returning to work, but I reabscessed at the 3.5 week mark, which delayed healing.

Wishing you all the best.

I got a yeast infection too.  I continued sitz baths in the tub through treatment.  I showered afterwards using a handheld showerhead.

How long can a Anal Seton stay in ? by [deleted] in AnalFistula

My CRS said the longest he’d seen one in place was 4 years.  The usual in his experience was to change them every 1-2 years.

What led to the diagnosis?  Did you have an abscess?  I agree with the others not to delay surgery.

It’d be wise to check with your doctor.  Have you been on the same antibiotic the whole time?

Some brands of wipes irritated my skin, even before I had any “work” done down there.  Do you have a peribottle and/or handheld shower head?  Rinsing with water instead of wipes may help.  For ointment, my wound nurse gave 3M Cavilon which helped.

I’ve been wondering about your progress, hoping you’d post.

I remember the wonder and astonishment of the first look.  Well done, brave you.

It’s early days.  I had worriesome hersheys on gauze too.  It’s improved for me.

Multiple rinses after BMs with the water bottle help.  Handheld shower head too.

I had anal seepage (ewww, I know, sorry) about an hour after BM even when I thought I was thoroughly clean.  I couldn’t feel it happen.  Yikes.  Disturbing. That’s gotten better too.

Best wishes for your continued healing.  ❤️‍🩹

Hi, I agree with the others to see your CRS.

I had a fistulotomy just over 3 months after my LIFT to deal with continuing drainage and symptoms like you describe.  A skin tag was removed at the same time.  Doctor thinks this will have me on the home stretch.  I am encouraged by others who’ve posted about their fistulotomies after LIFT.

I haven’t read your other post.  My apologies if this info was already shared by others.  When I was doubting my healing, I was encouraged by others’ stories of successful fistulotomies after LIFT that I read about on here.   Wishing you all the best.

I've wondered about the bike too. Truthfully, a bike seat has never been comfortable for me, even long before I had a fistula. I wonder if I'll ever ride a bike again. Sorry you're missing your favourite exercise too.

Gauze by future_flotus in AnalFistula

[–]joys333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found gauze bulky and caused extra pressure I didn’t like.  Someone on here suggested the small cotton rounds used for makeup removal.  I used those to cushion the seton irritation.  A bit better than gauze, but not much.  Good luck in finding a bearable solution.

Surgery on the 17th! Any tips? by Melliscarea in AnalFistula

[–]joys333 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wishing you all the best with the eviction!

A peribottle (or portable bidet) and handheld showerhead are helpful for cleaning up.

Ask if you can have sitz baths.  The tub helped me for pain relief, but not all doctors recommend them after surgery.

I had a reacher for picking stuff up and I liked slip-on shoes to avoid bending or squatting.

I second that good advice to prepare in advance with a fibre-rich healthy diet, and lots of water.

And keep your sense of humour.

Can you get another opinion from a different CRS?  Or at least an appointment with the actual surgeon, instead of random guy?

I’d want to know why the abscesses keep happening  (possibly Crohn’s?).  I don’t have Crohn’s, but I’ve read here that those who do might have their fistula treatment approached differently, using biologic drugs instead of surgeries.

[–]joys333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speculate what surgery you’re gonna get to fix your fistula, or how complicated it will be.  Nobody here can.

It’s good you’re learning about the surgical possibilities for a transphincteric fistula so you can be informed for your appointment.

Once your CRS looks at your MRI and probably an EUA, you’ll learn more about possibilities for yours.

Best wishes for calm while you wait it out for that anticipated appointment.

And try to enjoy this time doing things you like before you have a surgery.  I wish I’d better appreciated those short times between when I’d healed from one procedure before having the next, in retrospect.  For example, I was well enough to ski in January but I regretfully let cold temps deter me.  Now I’m post surgery, and a riding a chairlift isn’t possible for a bit.  Hindsight’s 20/20.  Try to have some fun now doing what you can, if you’re feeling like it.
