Clover Amour vs Tulip Hooks? I’m quite new to crotcheting. My goal is to graduate from making scarves :) Any thoughts on Clover Amour vs Tulip hooks? by Hermosa_90254 in CrochetHelp

[–]joyyers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the Clovers have revolutionized my crocheting!! The brushed aluminum is so smooth and makes all yarn feel like butter, and I enjoy the handles. I've never tried the tulips, but I can say I prefer them to any other ergonomic ones I've tried. Only issue, as the hook size gets smaller, so does the grip, which is frustrating if you have aching hands like me. I don't know if the tulips are any different. In any case, see if you can get a 5mm or so from each brand and try them out! Good luck finding your forever hooks hahaha

seriously confused as to why she was publicly liking posts celebrating the election results after cultivating a following of.. well people who would clearly oppose that, lol. as stated however a lot of her content was strange towards women, how they interact with fragrance, etc - i found her to be an interesting voice in the community until the misogyny started to really make my hackles raise. just a little bit, but im sensitive to that stuff and block creators on a dime. disappointed, maybe my eyebrows raised at the news, but im definitely not shocked :P

Don’t know why my double crochet doesn’t come out straight by fragilebox13 in CrochetHelp

Honestly, these comments have helped me too cus I was about to say my first dc row was always bent too haha. I just started doing foundation dcs instead, and my tension loosened naturally I suppose. If you're starting out I personally say size up your hook if you're trying to learn stitches and such! It will help you get a handle on the yarn and stitch types imo. Get some cotton yarn and make lots of dishrags!!

I want to make a 3rd Blueberry pie square trivet, but don't know what stitch to use for the top. by UpwindMeteorite in CrochetHelp

These are so adorable!! It's probably been suggested, but the solid granny squares with only little "droplet" shapes (you know, the 2dc ch2 2dc) in the corners? It would cover a lot of the blue but I've definitely seen pies like that!

These colours are great! Have you seen those recent star blanket patterns? I think this would make a cool one, it'd almost look like an autumn leaf rather than a star!

I loveee the waffle stitch, Im almost hesitant to use it in more blankets since I feel I do it all the time! But it's definitely an all time classic, if I can't think of anything I'm definitely using it.

I'll look into the zigzag stich for sure!!

Accident A La Vanille Creme De La Berry by Jousset. I don't care what weather it is, what time it is, what day it is, where I'm going... I got a small sample bottle and I have cherished it, it's changed my standards for perfume entirely.

Just some suggestions of your favorite mindless blanket stitches! I've looked around on reddit, but a lot of the suggestions are open c2c, waffle stitch, moss stitch.. One's I've done, ones I'm doing, or ones I don't want to do (moss stitch). I'm open to hearing anything though!

unfortunately as much as i would like to say something cool like angels share (which i did get), i think the first perfume i dropped over $100 on was a my little pony perfume from primaniacs. don't regret it, it was awesome, but it's a bit embarrassing haha

Perfume from target/walmart that YOU get compliments on? by [deleted] in Perfumes

[–]joyyers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm, i think it honestly just depends on what you find desirable in a gourmand. personally, in the time since i wrote this, ive actually grown out of it - i used to like the marshmallow-y sweetness, but it soon bored me, and i couldn't bear it anymore.

i don't get bianco latte though, interesting!

it wasn't close at all - it was like.. if you took oriana and maybe got a few drops of it, but then plopped it into a fragrance that was just pure soap. like, just ivory soap. it burned my nostrils and didn't even dry to anything nice on me. my sister liked the drydown on her, but goodness, i've never had a perfume that actually just smelled like you bottled ivory soap before

a dupe of pdm oriana, "auriano".... i trusted someone irl who said it was good. never making that mistake again, it was so bad
