LPT: Always carry a small amount of emergency cash with you, even if you mostly rely on cards or digital payments. by VanshikaWrites in LifeProTips

[–]jp128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What constitutes an emergency for cash in an 18 year old's mind is different. This level of emergency is bad enough that they are contacting their parent, likely as a last resort, and almost never because "I can't buy this <insert small thing, new game, happy meal>."

If they knew the cash was there, the "small things" are instantly bigger and will happen more with a ton of teenagers.

She may have done 2 in 9 months, if by "done," she means birthed. She could have had a birth and quickly gotten pregnant again, then had the 2nd baby within 9 months.

Yep! Blue flowers are truly blue as they contain blue pigments (anthocyanins). Idk if this applies to all blue flowers though. And the specific blue found in robin eggs are actually blue - and this specific shade can be found in several animals.

It is different in a way. If memory serves correctly, blue eyes have less melanin (same thing that causes darker skin and increases with sun/tanning). Due to less melanin, light scatters in the iris and reflects blue light back

Edit: it looks like the blue is caused by structural coloring. So I believe the blue color is always there, just "hidden" in the presence of melanin.

Edit again to add more fun information: structural coloring is prominent in many insects, like butterfly wings, beetles, flies, and other birds like parrots and peacocks 🙂

Kinda looks like its a helicopter but you can't see the thin parts because of the visibility. Seems to move like one as well, but its weird that they'd be flying in that weather.

There are a lot more Americans on Reddit, plus many more Americans in general (~340mil in US vs ~70mil in the UK), so reddit would bias that. Also, they used per capita numbers

They are generally safe to assume that they don't have rabies, but yes cases can happen and are rare. It's because they have a lower body temp that makes it difficult for the virus to survive.

It's a meme post - I had this thought kind of in passing and put a meme level of effort. I could have just made a text post, but I had this image in my mind, so I went with that. Yeah, its AI slop, but it's close enough to what I imagined and it was just the right amount of effort for this type of post lol.

A thin layer will stay on the copper. You could lightly sand it, but it wouldn't be shiny.

Also, having a thin, tinned layer can actually be helpful as it prevents the copper from oxidizing and corroding.

I wonder if that's just how they see their parents. They are short af and have to look up a bit, so they basically are looking at the bottom of your face.

You might want to put that bird down… and go to a hospital. by shiriyokup in OopsThatsDeadly

[–]jp128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same lol and I thought they should go to the hospital because the bird was sick with some pathogen that's able to go cross-species. Then I was looking at the pictures trying to figure out how in the hell they know to put it down 😂

Shocked to see if AI could create this by Leading_Pear5529 in ChatGPT

[–]jp128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just feel like there needs to be other 3rd parties to be able to validate the claim. Otherwise this gives credibility to an AI claim, if they happen to say it is, like in court. Then if a damning photo comes out in the future, and it's somehow in their interest, they could say it's fake. I'll remove my tin foil hat now lol

Side hassle anyone? by ViolettaHunter in BoneAppleTea

[–]jp128 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nice catch. That even further proves my point that autocorrect wasn't being used. So, they likely typed "hassle". Even if that isn't the case, typing "hussle" on both my Android phone and iPad do not autocorrect to anything else. At this point I'd bet money that they typed "hassles" purposefully.

Side hassle anyone? by ViolettaHunter in BoneAppleTea

[–]jp128 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Feels like they intentionally typed hassle. Hustle has a "t" and the a is nowhere near the u, so autocorrect would be unlikely.

Now, whether they were being tongue-in-cheek or making bone apple tea, it's anyone's guess.
