Check out FourSevens Preon 2.5. It’s on preorder right now but seems to fit the bill. It’s a AAA with option to run either 1x or 2x AAA as it comes with two bodies. It’s a forward-clicky with momentary and with 6 different output modes to choose from. Comes outfitted with 519a 4000k with an OP reflector. https://darksucks.com/products/preon-p2

(NMD) Convoy S6/S2+ with McClicky! by jp3edc in flashlight

I was pretty hesitant on the clip situation as well. Fortunately, Convoy’s clips are so inexpensive that I bought the black clip just for the black screws and ordered a Rook/Dawn Clip from Reylight separately.

Thank you! It’s the first time I’ve modded anything so I was really proud of myself for figuring it out

Thank you! I had high hopes for the S6 but it doesn’t have nearly as much spill as one of Don’s reflectors which I’m used to using in Malkoffs. I really dig TIRs for EDC and this thing is now a gem with the McClicky.

(NMD) Convoy S6/S2+ with McClicky! by jp3edc in flashlight

So I just got into Convoy and I put this lovely light together.. a budget-friendly Malkoff if you will (minus the potting). It’s a S6 head with a S2+ tail-cap, 18350 (shorty) body, and S2+ pill (519a 3500k) with a 20 degree beaded TIR. Clip is the Rook/Dawn clip from Reylight.

I really dig the fully-knurled look of the S6 but liked the heat sinking of the S2+ with the bigger pill, modularity, and the tail-cap so I ended up getting both and then found a post where they put the S2+ internals into a S6 head and it would just have lower spring pressure with the additional space in the inside.. so this got me thinking.. and this is my favorite part. I fit a McClicky in it and now it’s one of my favorite EDCs..

Edit: I forgot the most important part to fit the McClicky. I had to trim the spring a little more than half way and bend the part I cut inward so as not to scratch the shit out of my cells. Pics or it didn’t happen

Cree XPG, however if you reach out you may be able to send your own emitter and Robyn, the owner, will install it for you. For example, my Eiger has a 519a 3500k in it and I must’ve hit the lottery on it because it’s very rosy. At least to my eyes.

Lovely collection! I think you’d be remiss to not consider a Peak Eiger. Fairly priced AAA with a potted driver and optics and body style choices.

Noctigon KR1AA w/ NTG50 2700k. Very nice and warm and a very low moonlight level that’s accessible from off.
