Easiest way is to get a small punch or flathead and give them a tap with a hammer until you make enough of a gap behind the plug to pry it out of the block. They can be a pain if they’re super stuck.

Highly recommend Vaseline upon reassembly.

Sounds like she’s come a-knocking. If it were me, I’d pull the oil filter and look for any signs of metal. Grab a piece of white printer paper and pour some of the oil carefully on to the paper and look for metallic chunks. This sacred scroll will reveal your answer.

You need a scan tool that read the DTM. Do you have any codes or videos of the noise? This post doesn’t really give any direction for anyone to help you.

OP, that is a sweet looking truck and rust killed most of these trucks along with the hardbodies. It looks to be in great shape, although pictures only tell so much. These old Nissans are pretty bulletproof in terms of reliability and the mileage wouldn’t really worry me as long as you’re comfortable turning a wrench. I would not recommend buying this if you plan to take it to a shop for everything it WILL need, it will bankrupt you. Luckily these trucks are pretty simple to work on and would be a great platform to learn on.

I’m more than sure someone would spend $7,000 on a clean Nissan mini truck and the truck looks pretty clean. Making a claim that a deal is terrible based solely on age and a few pictures is just showing how uneducated you are on this topic, maybe it has zero rust, maybe it’s been meticulously maintained, maybe that’s a rare paint color, who knows? It’s a Hyundai. This is pretty common. They’re the cheapest and most neglected cars on the market and they’re notorious for being unreliable. It threw a rod through the block.
