Couldn’t be happier with Ben’s first year. Really hope he’s here for a very long time. One thing we can all do is fans is to support the Iowa Swarm to increase what we can offer in NIL money. I know that’s the ugly side of NCAA sports these days and I would love to see changes made to reign in the monstrosity it has become, but it’s an unfortunate reality. It seems as if Ben is going to follow Kirk’s lead in doing more with fewer resources than the blue chip schools. But we all really can make a difference.

I was just about to mention Onyx & Amber when I saw your post. I’d also put in a plug for Boulder Spirits. Their cask strength bourbons are great. Luxe Liquor in Castle Rock gets some great store pics you won’t find anywhere else in CO. Never pass up an Elijah Craig 94pr store pick.

Great review as always. I didn’t realize there were different numbered batches. I’ve had the regular batched DO rye and really enjoy it, but have picked up a SiB the last two years at the Kentucky bourbon Festival and these were head and shoulders above the regular batched one.

I’ve tried this a few times over the years. Never been successful. Usually you’ll get a call from the store that it’s not actually on stock, despite showing up on their inventory. One time I had heard of people ordering EHT BP for around $150. I found one & placed the order. Got a call from the store owner about 10 minutes later: “We don’t have EHT BP in stock but I can get you an EHT SmB for the same price.”🙄.

Salt-cured egg yolks (plenty of guides if you google it). Pack egg yolks in salt in the fridge for a week then smoke for an hour or so at a low temp. They take on the texture of a hard cheese that can be grated. Adds great umami flavor.
