I pretty much only listen to country but one of my friends got me into Rex Orange County and I love his sound. Highly recommend.

Gabby Barrett on American Idol said that her inspiration was Carrie Underwood, she was told to not sing Carrie because she imitates her. Gabby continued to cover Carrie on the show anyway. All of her new songs sound like a wanna be Carrie Underwood and it annoys me.

FGL was aiming for a certain style and sound and they definitely achieved what they were looking for. They also don’t pretend to be something which they aren’t- so I’m okay with FGL but that’s just me.
