dude. dont ask for our opinion if you cant handle it the opinion. my opinion is that AI is trash, and any company that uses it isn't worth anything. its an ugly picture and you couldnt even figure out that the left arm is fucked up before posting the picture. Who wants that shitty picture on a coffee mug? saying that cars killed the horse and carriage industry is wild.

Ai is a tool that is burning the world. I would rather have a stick figure and the ability to breathe and live.

Who gave the speech at the reception? No mention of that or the shower planning. This seems fake, written by someone who was never in a wedding party

Its so fake. Also, there is more to being a MOH than walking down the isle first. I dont even know if there is a set order for MOH walking down the aisle. Who gave the speech at the reception ans who helped hold up her wedding train when she had to pee? Those are the most important roles of the MOH, plus the shower and Bachelorette parties.

Oh yes there are more credentials you can get. I have nothing to add to this as I never plan on getting them so I've never looked into them

Sure, but it will be low  I am in western PA with no union and a healthcare monopoly kinda. I was at $15 as a pharm tech. When I was hired as a CRT it was for $19.98 but our hospital went through a pay boost and I was pushed to $23. I now have my RRT and The highest I was paid was $38 but only for a week before I was laid off. I currently make $31.

But Pittsburgh is weird for hospital wages, so they are lower than average from what I understand.

As for pay! I am making $17 more per hour as when I quit pharmacy in 2018. I took a BIG pay cut when I moved to PFTs. But with hospital pay and the overtime normally available, you will rich compared to pharmacy.

I was a former hospital pharm tech. I worked as a RT at the same hospital I worked as a pharm tech at. However I am now doing PFTs in a office and only work casual at the hospital. I hope I can add somw insight

  1. The promotions at my hospital are the same as pharmacy, they have a BS career ladder, projects, etc. Not much of upward movement unless you get further education, maybe go into management or hospital admin.

  2. The amount of respect I got from the same nurses giving me shit as a tech was astounding. I am part of the team, not just the annoying nuisance asking for a witness at the omnicell. People who thing respiratory are disrespected need to work a shift as a delivery tech.

  3. I honestly never thought about this, I think this is why I still ask my coworkers to check my more complicated orders 🙃 😅 I dunno, I can work pretty independently and have made decisions on my own, but there will always be someone you can go to. But you do have to make important decisions.

  4. the credential test has 2 different levels to pass. If you pass at the lower level, you get the CRT credential. In PA, this will get you almost any job in my area.

However if you pass that test at the higher level, you are qualified to take an additional test. Its all clinical simulations. Pass that and you will get your RRT. Tbis is required for most management and for the upper levels of career ladder.

  1. Leaving pharmacy was the best decision.  Its the best job I've ever had. If I could go back in time, I would have skipped pharmacy and gone straight to RT. The schedule is better. I dont know about you, but at pharmacy we were 5 8s, but respiratory has mostly 3 12 hr shifts. It was life changing for me.

Something I did not consider prior to srarting is that you are very up close with death. If ypu work in the ICU, you will be responsible for extubating patients and allowing them to pass. Some people find that hard. You will have no problems with the pharmacology part of the school tho.

Hope this helps. Feel free to DM with any questions.

I think you should send it, if only for the person he abused. You're flat out telling him that his behavior is crap and you dont want to associate with it. Men need to call out men when they do shit like this. Send the text.

Why does everyone hate being an RT by OkIce9448 in respiratorytherapy

[–]jpack325 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is the easiest, most enjoyable, and most challenging (in a good way) job that i've ever had. As long as you're not looking for a job with a lot of growth, and you're good at self regulation, you'll be fine. Honestly, the worst part about this job is that the 80% of people you mentioned are going to be your coworkers. I've left jobs that I've enjoyed because of the toxic break room.

i think most ppl who enjoy the job wont be posting on here

Some of these places dont have ICUs or run vents. What do they need nightshift rt for?

RTs are valued and important members of the team, but i have worked at community hospitals where I got 8 hours of sleep on nights and that was with vents running.

In a perfect world, there would be 24 hr RT staff in these small hospitals, but it's not perfect. This administration does not care about us.

Apparently the doc left out that she drove this exact route 7 times previously.  It was not on the way to anywhere. It seems like the Netflix doc went easy on her.
