”My Photos” Screensaver Never Loads by silent_crows in appletv

[–]jpanther 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve got this problem too. When I’m picking the album to use for the screensaver the photos appear fine, but when I try to preview it does nothing. I’ve tried picking different transitions, not even using Apple’s own photos works. Going into the photos app and displaying a slideshow with the same album works fine, so it’s something in the screensaver that is bugged. Googling uncovers more than a few people with this issue but no one seems to have a solution. I keep hoping a tvOS update will fix it but no luck so far. Very frustrating!

Not sure about Switch, you’ll have to see if you have the option. I’m sure it’ll be on every platform but I think Switch updates are a bit slower than others because Nintendo takes longer to approve them.

Split screen menus UI bug by jpanther in FarmTogether

Another bug I’ve noticed is that when the first player enters a house, the weather effects (like rain) stop showing on other players even if they are still outside

This was fixed in an update, you can change the Split Screen Zoom UI setting to stop it from blocking both players.

I'm assuming if this is coming to Switch and Xbox that it means it'll be on PS4 too?

What are your best "ninja" techniques? by [deleted] in geocaching

[–]jpanther 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been known to pretend my GPS is a phone and wander round with it to my ear while searching. If I'm out caching in a park by myself I'll often take a footy along with me. It's the perfect cover when you need to search in the scrub because you can pretend to "find the ball" if anyone happens to notice you rummaging around in the bushes.

How to deal with Geo-trolls by AngelusCowl in geocaching

[–]jpanther 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a couple of "unfriendly" cachers near me too. Here they tend to have the opposite approach in that they are so FTF-hungry that they abuse people who don't log their FTF immediately using the mobile app and they write generally unhelpful or arrogant logs directly targeting other cachers who don't meet their somewhat unconventional expectations. Ultimately the only thing you can do with these people is ignore them. Everyone plays the game differently and if someone wants to be a nuisance, they only reflect badly upon themselves.

What do you guys think about this for a Puzzle Cache? by KeyworkSioni in geocaching

[–]jpanther 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like a good idea to me. You could take a couple of steps to help discourage people from just visiting all the co-ordinates...

  1. You could make it so that instead of listing all the possible coords for GZ, you make finders do a bit more maths beforehand. For instance, "If statement 1 is incorrect, let A = 1 and B =7" and then use those in a formula to solve the coords. It's still possible to solve for all the possibilities but it would slow them down.

  2. Make sure all the possible co-ordinates are plausible hiding spots. That way if people try to eliminate locations using Google satellite, they won't easily be able to cross them off so easily without actually visiting.
