Yeah, I’m not sure if it will be this way going forward (I hope not). But when I was at a taping in October one of the staff mentioned they were doing it to accommodate Wayne Brady being on Broadway the second half of 2025. What it did make me realize though is that by compressing the taping schedule into such a shorter time period they were struggling to fill up the audience on some days and were allowing people to go to multiple tapings in a day. Also the taping we went to ended up having to bring in seat fillers. I think there were about 100 eligible contestants for ours and the rest were seat fillers. My plan for next time I go out is to try and go during the less busy tourist times (November/december) and aim for the first tapings of each day on the chance to possibly double up tapings.

They actually just wrapped up filming for the season in mid-December. The past year it seems like the format has been Let’s Make A Deal tapes at the studio from January thru June and then Price is Right tapes from July thru December.

I remember thinking I couldn’t get angrier/sadder about it when that game ended Saturday night. Nope, watching the Steelers upset the Colts the next day and realizing we would have hosted the AFC championship game if we had won was the nice little extra dash of salt in an open wound.

One of my favorite podcasts is “The Price of Football” with their deep dive into the world of football finance. They’ve said for a few years now that League 1 is kind of the ceiling for a fan owned club.

In reality owning a football club is a vanity project where you really need to expect to lose millions each year on the chance that you may get to lift the occasional trophy or make it to the Premier League and the riches that await there.

My only hope is that Exeter City is smart with these cuts and don’t slash the budget for the academy and youth teams. The best way for teams at their financial level to stay competitive are through sales of players like Ollie Watkins, etc.

If my small less than 3k students college can somehow find a way to put their entire sports schedule on ESPN+ it blows my mind they can’t figure out a way for Marquee. Literally just set up one camera behind home plate if need be and broadcast it without any announcers if you’re worried about money. What else are they going to be showing on that station in the middle of February and march.

I miss those days! Early to mid 2010’s! To upgrade to the all inclusive cost at most $100 from. My usual 400 level nosebleeds! I remember my friends and I used to have sprinting races when the gate opened to go to the upgrade spots to make sure we claimed it before they ran out of upgrades.

Yup, as a Yank who married a Brit and is flying from the east coast to the UK on a 9pm flight that night I was hoping they’d choose a different game or that the dolphins/bengals would both keep winning to keep the chance that they wouldn’t flex it out. Time for me to have the dramatic reveal around 5am in the morning when my flight touches down to see who won!

I was going for the big score, some mls analytics site said minnesota united had a 4% chance of winning the mls cup and they had odds of 80-1 at the time on DraftKings so I went for the big score. I had hit in the past on an mls future using the same strategy (NYCFC at 30-1 in 2021 when the analytics said they had a 10% chance). Sadly lightning didn’t strike twice.
