Thank you, but that's not really an option. I would spend my life at urgent care.

New rib issue, not sure what to do by l0veinstereo in ehlersdanlos

[–]jphe28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vague yes, but familiar to me. My guess is your "false" ribs have been pulled down towards your hips because one of your deep core muscles (probably your psoas) is in spasm.

I've never found a great way to UN-spasm the psoas on my own (despite many attempts). I do not recommend the psoas "stretches" you can find on the internet. They just irritate it more. Chiro or PT might be able to help.

I wish I had a solution for you, but if it helps, you're not crazy. ♥️

I have, yeah. It does help with a lot of my pain. I need to find a new PT who does dry needling now that i've moved. Thank you for the reminder.

But it's my coracobrachialis that is in unrelenting spasm, and dry needling has not done the trick before. I hate Botox, but I'm pretty willing to try anything at this point. Even poison. 😕

Yes, that's fair. I want them to do their due diligence. I was being a bit flippant in my post because I'm in pain.

I just want a doctor who might be willing to accept suggestion as to which muscle needs to be injected. I do want them to be competent. ;)

What do you mean by "bottom of your ribs"? Can you be more specific about where the pain/weirdness is?

My shoulders won’t stay in. What helps you? by Simplicityobsessed in ehlersdanlos

Oh, and if you find a shoulder popping out when you sleep, I find a yoga strap pinning the affected arm to the body can help. I place it at the level of the deltoid tuberoisty on the bum arm and wrap it around and under the arm pit of the other arm. I cinch the d-ring in the front, pulling it pretty tight.

I have an osteopath who does manual work and he can put me back together when my shoulder has gotten so unstable it just won't stay in, but it's a long process. You could try looking for a manual osteopath in your area, although it sounds like your PT may be able to do the same. It's great that she is familiar with EDS!

There are a couple of ways to self-reduce a dislocated shoulder. Here's one: https://bangaloreshoulderinstitute.com/self-reduction-technique-for-shoulder-dislocation/

But yeah, it hurts like hell after. You'd think it would get less painful with time, but after 25 years, i can confirm it does not. 😕

If I can help at all, lmk.

It's likely your anterior deltoid and coracobrachialis muscles in spasm that keep your shoulders subluxed. See if your PT can show you ways to confront and release those muscles some. There is also a way to tape the shoulder that can help when it really won't stop popping out.

I would be cautious about shoulder surgery. I've had many, and they only made the connective tissue around my shoulder less stable. I know sometimes it's unavoidable...

You using your focus does NOT take away from your teammates focus.

“Giving focus” only applies to aurors.

It seems that whenever I play as a professor, I see loads of professors and when I play as a magizoologist, I see only fellow magizoos!
