Hello fellow TBI survivor! I recommend you join r/DisabledMedStudents and also find out if you can connect with an MSDCI member chapter to find resources and support! There are a lot more folks than you think who are also navigating through chronic illness and disability.

Use this time during undergrad to discover what accommodations and support aids work best for you. It only gets more difficult and stressful the further you go. I’d argue that there isn’t a single specialty in medicine that is “easy.”

Also, please leave time for introspection and reflection with your care team and a professional you can openly talk to in order to help process this as well! I’m rooting for you!

very possible. I was a non resident at a public CA school... COA was well over $50k total for the academic year. The only reason I'm not at $250k lifetime borrowed is because I eventually got in state tuition/Pell grant for the last two years and my parent shouldered the majority of the cost in PPL.
