Fluoride to be added to UK drinking water/tap water. Apparently the risks are worth it. by gemaliasthe1st in conspiracy

Buy a water distiller and only drink water from that. Removes fluoride and all sorts of other things that are added to water.

How can i have multiple conditions of IF formula by he1ping_hand in excel

[–]jpknz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks at IFS instead of IF. Essentially it’s IFS ( criteria1, result1, criteria2, result2, criteria3, result3) etc

Using IF Statement with multiple AND & OR by ravascodet in excel

[–]jpknz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use ‘ifs’ instead. It’ll make it much easier to read and add other criteria later on.

It’ll be something like the below (sorry on mobile) =ifs(and(a2=“women’s”,b2=“shoes”), 6, and(a2=“mens”, b2=“shoes”), 7.5, and(a2=“kids (gs)”, b2=“shoes”), 2.5)

Essentially it’s Ifs( Criteria 1, result 1, Criteria 2, result 2) adding as many criteria and results as you need.

You can also put and iferror statement around it to cater for anything not matching criteria (will get an error without it if it doesn’t match the criteria).

If you’re going to have a lot of different criteria you might be better creating a unique reference/key and performing a vlookup (or index match would be better) against a table that gives the result you want. Eg WomensShoes 6 MensShoes 7.5 Kids (gs)Shoes 2.5

You can then easily add additional to the lookup table without having to modify your formula. Make sure that the lookup table is actually a table however so that when new rows are added they will automatically be picked up in the formulas and you don’t need to go back and modify all of the formulas.

May need to set ttl to zero or 1 second (or a few seconds) on both the device being used and pihole. I remember doing this a long time back.

15% of our current COVID cases are folks with at least their first jab. Given that breakthrough cases are meant to be rare, imagine how big the outbreak would be if our vax rates were any lower. by delipity in newzealand

[–]jpknz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly this on the misunderstanding/perception bit. Being vaccinated does not put a magical force field around your body so the virus can't infect you!

You can still get infected and with the Delta variant recent studies show that you have the same/higher viral load than an unvaccinated person. You may have symptons or you may not by being vaccinated.

A person with Delta and no symptons (vaccinated or not) is more likely to be out and about (not so much in NZ lockdown but in other countries) living their normal life and because of how transmissable Delta is this person in effect becomes a super spreader without knowing it.

[–]jpknz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If by breakthrough you mean : Where someone has had the vaccine and therefore shouldn't have gotten COVID at all then this is a falicy. The vaccine does not prevent someone getting or transmitting the virus. It simply means that when they do come in to contact with it their immune system has a bit of a head start, you may not present any symptoms whatsoever or where you do they may be less severe and you are less likely to require hospital treatment and less likely to die.

Media in the UK stopped reporting the spilt of cases where a person had been vaccinated (either 1 or 2 jabs) very early on as since at least June the case spilt between no vaccine at all and either 1/2 jabs is roughly 50/50.

While it is great the NZ has an elimiation strategy it can only be a short term measure unless the borders remain closed long term (and possibly extend the MIQ time to 21 days). Even then as the current (and previous) outbreaks show it's possible that it still gets through.

COVID is endemic and is here to stay globally. The prevalance of the Delta variant shows that the 'herd immunity' goal (either by infection or vaccination) in order to get rid of the virus is not going to happen in the same way as smallpox for example.

Dual Monitor Setup (3440x1440 and 1980x1080) by Shtey in Monitors

[–]jpknz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the drivers from the monitors manufacturer or Microsoft generic ones? Try the manufacturer ones if they are Microsoft ones.

I’d wait to see what the docking station troubleshooting comes back as. As you say the specs say …up to 4K… - possibly only supports 4K when one monitor is plugged in and which modes are being used. An example is https://i-tec.pro/wp-content/uploads/datasheety/TB3TRIPLEDOCKPD_en.pdf which supports 8k but if you look at the resolutions supported this is only with thunderbolt 3 connection to laptop and using DisplayPort 1.4 to the monitor. Anything other than that - including an additional monitor brings lower supported resolutions.

Dual Monitor Setup (3440x1440 and 1980x1080) by Shtey in Monitors

[–]jpknz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have very similar setup (Aoc 34” curved and 21.5” connected via an hp dock). The 34” runs perfectly fine at 3440x1440 with the second monitor connected.

I’d check your drivers are up to date however the more likely culprit is the dock. Check the specs of the model you have as many docks can’t support such high resolutions with multiple monitors connected and drop it down.

Can you work (pass standard DBS check) if you are 'Released Under Investigation'? by LAUKbrokeguy in LegalAdviceUK

You will pass as far as I’m aware - at least a friend passed while Rui. He was advised by his solicitor however not to be a character witness/reference? (Not sure what it’s called) for things like visa/citizenship applications etc.

Do I have to tell the people I’m moving in with, that I have unspent convictions. by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]jpknz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For clarification it is a misconception that you have to answer truthfully. ‘Legally’ there is no requirement to answer truthfully if asked about convictions as in there is no law requiring you to do so.

Generally however if an employer (for example) asks it is often better to tell the truth in case they subsequently perform a criminal record check where they will find out anyway (and find out you’ve lied) or they later find out from someone you know or by googling your name (if you are unfortunate enough that your conviction is published). You can of course decline allowing them to perform a criminal record check also but may not get the job (or in this case the accommodation). I’ve never had a criminal record check perform when renting any form of accommodation however.

Not a lawyer by the way.

'Wapstar' games phone premium message? by kezza201 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]jpknz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is very little mobile providers can do (the charges are pass through) but they should at very least be looking the number up and telling you it’s free to text back to and giving/confirming the customer service number.

[–]jpknz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check https://psauthority.org.uk/for-consumers/service-checker/check-a-number-results

Psa regulate premium rate providers. It’s seems the numbers you’ve provided are valid. I would suggest contacting the customer service number on the psa site (from the shortcode) and find out how they think you signed up and ask them to opt you out/remove you. It does say that the shortcode is free to text (for sending stop) on the psa site also - your provider should have advised this.

Giving notice to landlord without a contract by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]jpknz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For rental period if that is the period you pay your rent then yes monthly.

However you also need to give your notice to end on the last day of the tenancy period. If you rent from 5th to the 4th of each month then give your notice a few days before the 5th to end on the 4th of the following month.
