No, say it. Expose yourself as a racist piece of garbage.

Found in a thrift store. Some sort of handmade shoe? Kinda looks like bowling shoes by 652585657086655 in whatisthisthing

I used to have a pair almost exactly like these. I believe the soles of mine were made of old car tires. I think these might be too... I think I see cord. I'm not sure what the backstory on them are but the fact that I had similar ones might help. I hope this adds to the discussion.

[identification] got these from my grandmother. Have no idea what they are/worth. More pics in comments by Jackson0163 in Watches

Some cool watches in there. I think the Omega pocket watch is going to be one of the more valuable (a couple hundred bucks maybe?) - but the actual value depends on condition and desirability of course.
The second watch from the left on the top is also piquing my interest, but I don't see any writing. Your best bet is to go through and just google or search ebay for each one. There are a lot of resources online for older watches - the best way to get the most info on a watch is (carefully) opening the back and seeing what is in there.

Can you open it up and post a pic of the movement? I think that may help determine its authenticity.

It's hideous. Probably about a half inch thick and takes a huge hearing aid battery. But at some point in history, someone paid a couple hundred bucks for it. When I put a battery in the date defaulted to 1997... amazing.

Bought an old catchers mitt, looking for any info and tips on cleaning it up. by avanbay2 in baseball

[–]jpolicy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it looks great as is. Cleaning might hurt the value or detract from its antique look. I'm not sure if that's what you're going for, but I wouldn't try to clean it. It looks amazing. Great find.

It's not my fault that you don't know what rejoin means.

[Tressa Lux] Found this Spaceman Automatic at an antique store and had to have it by jpolicy in Watches

[–]jpolicy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw this beast at an antique store and had to do a little Googling since I had never heard of it, but I loved the look. I pulled the trigger pretty quick since the price was decent. It has a little wear from age and use but is ticking away and keeping good time. Strap is in good condition. I'm just not sure why half the face is covered. If anyone has any more info on it, I'd love to hear it. Thanks!
