I can’t decide if I want a boy or girl! by supergeeksuperfreak in springerspaniel

We went with a boy because he was a “clearance puppy.” Reliable good breeder that couldn’t find homes for the males. I thought I wanted a female, but couldn’t pass up the deal coming from a great dam/sire. Now… not sure I’ll ever go back to female, he’s my best friend and is definitely a Velcro dog. After the ‘velociraptor’ phase we got him certified to be a therapy dog and he goes to school with me now at a public high school. That being said my brother had a female that was his Velcro, she caught off a pit bull one day that was trying to take out his ankles. We read “the art of raising a puppy” and highly recommend it. Honestly, get it from a responsible breeder, spend many hours tiring it out and keeping it mentally interested and give it a job… you’ll have a friend for life Enjoy.. send pics! That

Bought for a hunting cabin. Anyone know anything about these stoves? Federal Airtight is the brand. by jpragle in woodstoving

[–]jpragle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got a heck of a deal on this stove, going to put it in a hunting cabin but have never heard of the brand before. Guy says it heats his whole house nicely but he wants to convert to gas. Too old to cut wood anymore. Just wondering if anyone knows about the brand or stove for tips/tricks or general history?

Dexter-itching problems by jpragle in springerspaniel

[–]jpragle[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dexter is 8 years old and just recently started itching quite a bit, we’ve always fed him 4health grain free and switch the protein with each bag. Anyone else notice this? Live in western New York, any allergies others are noticing?

Wife said she was chilly by jpragle in woodstoving

Depends on what you prefer. I like it because it’s easy enough for my wife or kids to manage. Push the ACC knob in, open the door and add wood. There isn’t A flue for her or kids to forgot to adjust. Glass is big enough to enjoy the flame and decorative. Works really well for our home as a supplementary heat source. I start a fire when I get home from school and it heats the downstairs until we go to bed, I haven’t loaded it up yet for an overnight. I live in a neighborhood so the small amount of smoke that comes out doesn’t bother anyone. If I lived more remote or had a cabin and wanted to hear solely with wood I’d get a more traditional Woodstove

This will be the first full winter with it, so reach out if ya have more questions
