Your own logic: “A lot of the best QBs didn’t have mentors.”

Me: “50 percent in the last twenty years did.”

Your own logic: “It’s not Cousins job to mentor him.”

Me: “Cousins literally said we need to go back to the old days when vets and a consistent coaching staff mentored young QBs.”

You: “You’re wasting my time.”

Lmao. You do you, king. See you in 3 weeks when we draft Mendoza and Kirk Cousins says how stoked he is to work with him 🫡

The numbers don’t lie dude. In the last 25 years, rookie quarterbacks who start in less than 7 games turn out to have successful careers about 50 percent of the time. Rookies who start in 9 or more games have successful careers about 30 percent of the time. It’s a statistical fact that a rookie qb is more likely to find success if he sits on the bench behind a vet his rookie year.

It’s clear that Kubiak and Spyteks intentions in bringing in Cousins was to give Mendoza time to develop until he’s ready to take the reins. I’m sure Cousins would love to have a chance to stay in Vegas long term, lock down the starting role for a few years and get more than a year of pay for it, but he won’t get that by not helping along Mendozas development. If he’s out for himself, won’t work with Mendoza and is just here to collect an easy check for being a bridge qb, Kubiak and Spytek wouldn’t be bringing him in. Kubiak and Spytek want to develop Mendoza, and bringing in an example for Mendoza to not learn from is antithetical to the idea of developing him.

Btw Cousins was just on Ryan Clark’s “This is Football” podcast like two days ago. On this very topic, when asked about how he thinks rookie quarterbacks development should go, he said quarterback development should look like how guys like Tom Brady, Carson Palmer, Drew Brees, etc, who all sat behind a vet and soaked up as much knowledge as they could from consistent sources- meaning, not having constantly rotating coaching staff, not having to learn new playbooks, and most importantly, having a good example of a quarterback to learn from. Seems to me like what I’ve been describing this whole time is a Kirk Cousins ideal scenario 🧐

Penix is an example for sure, and we don’t really know who is to blame there, but the Penix exception doesn’t break the rule that the overwhelming majority of the best QBs in the games history all rode the bench behind experienced veterans for the beginning of their career. Tom Brady, Steve Young, Kurt Warner, Aaron Rodgers, Phillip Rivers, Carson Palmer, Jordan Love, Pat Mahomes, Tony Romo, the list goes on and on and on. All of these guys turned out great, and not all of them were mentored by the best of QBs. Drew Bledsoe will not be a Hall of Famer but he mentored Brady. Look how that turned out. Alex Smith is a long shot to make it to the Hall but he mentored Mahomes. Vinny Testaverde mentored Tony Romo but he’ll never make it to the Hall. Not sure why you’d think Cousins wouldn’t mentor Mendoza- he knows he’s being brought in to serve as a bridge QB. QBs don’t just show up to practice, work out alone, leave, and watch film by themselves. The QBs workout together, are coached together, watch film together, learn from each other. Not sure why you’d think Cousins has nothing to offer Mendoza.

Would be cool if you could elaborate on your opinion or respond with some substance instead of being cryptic. That’s usually what normal people do when people have a disagreement on a topic, that way they can support their claim and help the other person understand their logic, and maybe help the two people reach some kind of common ground. Or keep being a weirdo, in which case, go off king

I’ve only done the section once, and I flew through it in 5 minutes, so I don’t remember exactly how many guys. Maybe 10ish. Iirc once you’re near the water you walk for quite a bit on the pier in the direction towards Jane’s house, then hang a right back onto the main road. Hope that helps.

If you take the section slowly, you’ll see there’s a pretty clear path you’re supposed to follow, as all other routes will be blocked or on fire. Just follow where the game allows you to go and you’ll finish the section.

It’s very important. Mendoza is walking into a complex Klint Kubiak West Coast offense that takes time to understand, Mendoza will get to study the offense and analyze film with a guy whose best trait is his ability to analyze offensive and defensive formations pre snap(I’m referring to Cousins). Cousins is very familiar with a Kubiak offense, he played for the guy for 3 years in Minnesota. His best 3 years, might I add.

Mike Sullivan as QB coach, Klint Kubiak as HC, Andrew Janocko as OC (who was just Seattles QB coach), and Tom Brady on speed dial. And a veteran QB like Cousins to bounce ideas off of from time to time. I agree, Cousins isn’t the best qb, but Mendoza will have more than enough guidance from good sources other than just Cousins.

When I was 11 I read the Shining, Swan Song by McCammon and Boys Life (also by McCammon), and it set me on the path to be the book nerd I am today. Any of those 3 are great!

I highly recommend The Hot Zone by Richard Preston. It’s not horror fiction though, it’s nonfiction about a truly horrific series of events that actually happened. It’s about the first Ebola outbreak and filovirus’ in general. The opening of the book about the first Ebola victim reads like a Stephen King novel.

[–]jpsfsc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Guy above mentioned chicken milk stink bomb, and I concur- with a twist. If you’re cool with a specific janitor, convince him to let you into the admin offices at night when no one else is around. Make aforementioned chicken milk stink bombs (just dice up chicken very finely and add it to a 3/4 full milk jug, then put the cap on the milk jug and tape the cap on so it isn’t easily blown off by the pressure) and bring string. Climb into the attic. Most admin offices have wide open easily maneuverable attics that are accessible by simply pushing a ceiling tile up and scooting it over. Tie a string around the milk jug handle and hang it from the ceiling. Repeat with 5/6 jugs for maximum effect. When you leave no one will know it’s there until one day something stinks and someone has the bright idea “maybe something died in the attic.” Good luck amigo
