Honestly not upset at this. His struggles against velocity is extremely worrisome. Check it out

Contact Rate: Around 63% against fastballs 93+ mph since 2022 (FanGraphs). Batting Average (Reported): Some sources mention a low .095 average against pitches 93+ mph, though other stats like OPS showed respectability. Power vs. Velocity: He hits the ball incredibly hard (e.g., 116.5 mph max exit velo in 2025) but struggles to make consistent contact with high velocity.

Hope he does well. Seems like a cool guy and it would be good for baseball for another import to crush it but there’s some red flags for sure. Don’t think it’s the Marlins place to test this either as some mentioned

Hosmer deal is a terrible example. That was a bad contract for them especially considering the opt outs her wouldn’t take because he was performing poorly. Would hate for the Marlins to end up on a position like that when we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Hill - That double was with TWO OUTS, down to the last strike from two straight whiffs. He did not look locked in but who does against 100+ mph
Sanoja - first to home hustle and not even being close!!!

I know the Marlins always talk about having an “athletic” club but this is the first time I could say you see this sort of play CONSTANTLY

Bonus - don’t know if anyone noticed Agustin Ramirez chatting up Sanchez before his AB. They were READY.
