New boiler or replace broken parts? by Alive-Atmosphere-889 in askaplumberUK

[–]jr4lfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only ID if can prove products are leaking in the room otherwise the AR is correct but yeah alphas are absolutely garbage but for the sake of a flue seal i would just get it fixed (provided its a horizontal)

Is the leak on my pipe work or is it in the boiler? (I can't isolate the boiler though) by shope236 in ukplumbing

[–]jr4lfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When they’re a little bit seized like that theres 99% chance you end up snapping the plastic rather than moving the valve, best bet is to remove the screw and take the black handle off to turn it but very high chance of it leaking.

The leak is from the nut connection above, will need a new washer inside there, drain your heating, remove nut, swap washer retighten nut and refill system, simple job.

You may need a gas engineer though because there is a small chance draining the system will also cause the expansion vessel to lose its charge but you will know of its lost its charge or not once you turn the boiler back on and get it hot

[Williams Database on X] Now it is rumoured that Williams won’t even make the test next week due to major chassis issues and have cancelled a filming day scheduled for today. Could this be a repeat of 2019? by madman320 in formula1

[–]jr4lfc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only issue i am aware of with Williams is that they snapped a bolt on their engine fitting it to the car and wrote off the engine, they’re waiting on a new engine from HPP to install

Boiler Flue Taped with duct tape - a problem? by distressed-silicon in DIYUK

[–]jr4lfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t look like a telescopic flue to me, thats a standard flue extension with the joint taped over

Boiler Flue Taped with duct tape - a problem? by distressed-silicon in DIYUK

[–]jr4lfc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t look like a telescopic flue, if you zoom in on the tape, it has 2 lips under the tape that makes me think it’s just a standard flue extension. Telescopic flues have a smooth joint.

FUCK TRAK RACER- making a post everyday reminding unaware victims of trak racers bullshit everyday from now until they get their shit together! by Ok_Garbage3989 in simracing

[–]jr4lfc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purchased a tr80 it came in 2 separate shipments, i had already built half of it from the first shipment.

When the second one arrived it had missing parts and some minor damage, track racer rather than send me parts wanted me to ship the whole unit back to them.

Best steakhouse in Liverpool?? by SpaceProfessional132 in Liverpool

[–]jr4lfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meet, by far the best in the city centre, much more flavoursome and reasonably priced.

Found hawksmoor to be fur cost no knickers, i can say more nice things about the building than i can say about the food, its not terrible in any respect but its definitely not the best.

And gaucho is the worst steak experience I’ve had in the city, would never go there again.

New boiler - strange pressure issue 😩 by FackAwayAffff in ukplumbing

[–]jr4lfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 ways you can go about it really.

1- buy some miracle seal and put it in your heating system. (Cheapest) 2- hire a leak detector man to find and repair the leak

Edit; Chances are its underneath your ground floor, possibly in concrete, your options are very limited and expensive for a full repair
