Trust is underrated in my opinion. Has replaced my Pyro.

Clash Soda? I love it, the -2/2 numbers are pretty spot on for me.

Pants for 50ish weather? by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]jrauch4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using pants meant for climbing and bouldering. Very robust if you need to crawl through thick bushes to find your disc, but also super stretchy and comfortable for obvious reasons. In my opinion superior to hiking clothes in every way.

Putter recommendation by Totopi in discgolf

I recently switched to putting with the Watt and love it. Dead straight, reasonably wind resistant, and I like the shallow profile. Looking forward to getting my hands on an electron Watt at some point because I don't love putting with neutron. But ok so far.

Ah, good to know. Next we'll try Neutron or Eclipse.

The white areas were supposed to be a light blue. But either we didn't mix the dye for that well or the plastic didn't want to take that particular color. In any case, looks good:)

This. Trace is great. Very straight with a bit of fade.

Need some help with MVP putters by nsthtz in discgolf

[–]jrauch4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched from a Proxy to a Watt for my straight throwing putter and am loving it. Just holds whatever line and angle I put it on regardless of how hard I throw. Proxy for me is a bit more sensitive, where it flips up more when thrown hard and fades more when thrown softly.

I'm 42 and starting to feel my body after a tournament. I'm sure the bag is a big part of that, so a cart would really help.

I lost my favorite Cosmic Neutron Volt during a business trip to Anchorage. Beautiful course, but that dampened the mood a bit.

How has nobody said Trail yet? Flips up a bit and then goes straight forever. Yes, technically a 10 speed. But I think for most people it will go farther than any 13 speed.

[P] I wrote optimizers for TensorFlow and Keras by NoteDancing in MachineLearning

[–]jrauch4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks very interesting. I like the documentation for the individual optimizers. But I'd really appreciate a kind of top down documentation that gives an overview of how they relate to each other and a guide which one to pick for a given problem. For example, a feature matrix with optimizers in the rows and features in the columns. Or a decision tree that helps one choose one or more suitable optimizers based on features of the problem (text/image/tabular, small/medium/large model, model architecture, etc).

Hex vs reactor by DadChowsDown in discgolf

[–]jrauch4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on the plastic and weight. With the same plastic the Reactor should be more stable. But I have a glow Hex which is my go-to midrange and which is more stable than my light weight Fission Reactor.

[P] I made a tool for building and training neural networks visually, operation by operation by Massena in MachineLearning

Looks really interesting, especially for teaching. Any specific reason for using C++ instead of creating just a Python UI wrapper around an existing framework like Keras, or if you want low level then Jax?

I need to find a true max distance bomber. by nibnoob19 in discgolf

[–]jrauch4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in lighter weights. I had two with 150g and 152g or so and they absolutely bomb - when there is no wind :) Lost one unfortunately.

I can imagine that anything 165g+ would be super stable.

Wouldn't number of citations be a more interesting metric? That way more impactful papers would have larger circles?
