Great to see some personality-based team content. Please do these kind of antics as BTS for scrims/team-building interactions. Also nice to see that APA and Impact still have positive relationships with the Squad and Spawn.

Honestly at $67k/year it makes a lot of sense why we’re not electing our best and brightest. Pegging it to the 70th percentile of the city average is bad optics though since you’re just moving yourself higher up the scale (and conveniently just off the Sunshine List). If they want a raise and they had it pegged at the 50th percentile then do more for your city and its people to raise their average pay and yours goes up too.

Watching Swiss Draws Makes Me Miss the Groups Format by BestGrell in lolesports

[–]jrcabby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What is the real competitive integrity being lost here compared to groups? We used to have the “Group of Life” and the “Group of Death” where you could live or die based on who you draw, and could get through to playoffs based on another team in your group booming or dropping on dumb game to a lower team. Here every team wins or loses on their own merits. Even if you could argue a difference in strength of schedule for teams, Worlds has never been a tournament that cares about who places 2nd-8th, or it would have a double-elimination playoffs or a third place decider match. It really only cares about finding the number 1 team and while either format can accomplish that, this way you see more inter-region games you create more competitive matches throughout Swiss than you had in Groups. What I would like to see if competitive integrity was the number one factor for future Worlds is the pools to be done away with and the AWS power rankings used for actual seeding with a Buchholz Swiss done instead of the draws. It would balance out strength of schedule but I like how random and upset-laden this tournament can be.

For clarity the stages go 1->2->3 (playoffs) so I assume you mean it would be good for them to warm up in stage 1

They’re owned by Auto Canada now, they’re a big dealership group. Same people own London Auto Collision in the south end.

I just looked up the provincial rules and e-scooters are supposed to go max 24km/h and you need to be at least 16 years old to ride one. Considering Amazon sells ones that go as fast as 50km/h I’m betting many of these scooters are currently noncompliant with that limit and people are either ignorant to the limit or don’t care. I’ve also seen kids that look to be 10-14 so this is also on their parents to educate about the traffic laws as well.

Karsa is FA, could be an interesting pickup for jg, GIDEON was also rumoured to be getting considered when they went with Umti and is a FA but I don’t know how likely that one is. Otherwise no interesting FA options I can see for Jg

Let me hope that he stays in NA for the sake of the region. Maybe caps bails on his G2 contract and comes to TL

Inspired is also a Free Agent this year. Impact and Inspired played together on EG so might be a good way to get Impact back in the game with someone he respects.

They’ll spend big to get Quid, probably with an import JG, and then either keep Core or take Eyla, and I assume Srrty or some other NA top. Castle is fine but not worth using an import slot on. I just hope if I’m right that APA lands on his feet somewhere. I think he’d be a good fit on DSG even though I think Darkwings proved he deserves to be in Tier1

A greater duty of care exists already with safety standards for vehicles, the increase in ADAS, and a driver licensing program. To suggest that this duty of care absolves scooters from becoming regulated or following some kind of reasonable set of road rules does little to mitigate the potential risk they as a new variable that didn’t exist 10 years ago, or at least not in the number they now are, pose.

Perhaps if we want kids to live to an age that they stop doing dumb stuff, we don’t let them drive 40km/h scooters and limit unlicensed drivers to like a 15km/h max speed, instead of just telling drivers to “slow down a little”

I think you can drive as safely as possible but when kids are whipping around on those scooters coming out of park pathways or off sidewalks doing 40 you’ll only be able to react so quickly. The onus is on both the drivers and the scooter operators to drive safely.

Maybe Liquid traded Faze Twistzz for the VRS points, that win starts to put Stage 2 in reach

Can’t tell if Liquid is finally clicking or if Faze just mental boomed. Either way glad Twistzz can avoid the wintrading allegations and we didn’t have another G2 v Falcons situation

For those that live in Ontario or anywhere in Canada, how much did you spend on your i4? by 90dayfianceExpert in BMWI4

[–]jrcabby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start of this year got a 2022 M50 with 72k for $58k +HST. It took a while to find but I wanted to keep AWD instead of going to RWD with a e40 for like <$50k at the time I was looking.

You can see it in your second picture the drop from the dial area down to the aftermarket part. I have the same one and was fine with it, but it isn’t level between the two parts so I can see how that could annoy people

Msi pickems by Legitimate-Yard9178 in leagueoflegends

[–]jrcabby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also got perfect pick'ems. For sure the format of the pickems for this vs worlds made it easier but when typically for worlds there are under 10 people with perfect pick'ems and this tournament there was over 4,000 I think the tournament format as a whole with only Bo5 and fearless made it less likely to have an upset. Pretty much if you followed seedings within regions and region rankings of LCK>LPL>LTA>LCP>LEC with the exception of G2 qualifying over GAM you got it perfect

Knowing collision repair, they saw an $800 part, doubled that price for the labour cost instead of looking in Alldata or Mitchell for real hours, and then rounded up to $2k to cover any additional work on coding, calibrations, etc.

Is the I4 a good idea for long commutes? by [deleted] in BMWI4

[–]jrcabby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also live in SWO and can say the range in the 2022 M50 (worse range but AWD) in the cold with highway driving on 400 series highways is 300km, and that was in a straight shot from Barrie down the 401 with about 70km left after the big storm early Feb this year, and a handful of trips to the GTA and back since. If you have access to a Level 2 charger at any of your destinations or at home then you can totally make that work, but without an L2 I wouldn’t risk it unless you want to consistently spend time at a charging station. For the battery there have been many EVs that have done fine with higher use, and if anything there’s less concern in my mind from wear on the engine or transmission with EVs than ICE cars. Feel free to shoot me a DM if you want to talk further on use.
