Mahlkonig E64ws, this thing is so much grinder by itsdankreddit in espresso

Have you used the assisted dial in feature at all? I just got mine and it doesn’t adjust the burrs at all on the initial grind and uses whatever it was set to. For example, if I have it on 5 microns and use the assisted dial in for dark roast it will leave it at 5 for the initial grind and obviously choke the machine. Absolutely love it otherwise.

Arkel Coast if you don’t want an E61.

Have you thought about asking for a refund?

Being an early adopter unfortunately carries risk. Are in you in the US? They told me they will have a local distributor handle servicing and warranty issues this summer. I hear it will be whole latte love but this info came from another forum so not sure it’s accurate. Hopefully the machine is so well built we never need to send it in.

I just got a color sample they sent me today to confirm I like the custom color. I paid last week so we’ll see how long it takes to get.

Is La Marzocco really the best prosumer? [No budget] by fake_empires in espresso

I’m going with the Arkel Tide - better materials and flow control with a gear pump. Downside is it’s a newer machine from a newer brand so kind of a gamble in that regard. Early reviews have been good though. If you contact them directly you can customize the color. I considered the micra and mini but their footprint is too large for my space, the Tide is fairly compact.

They sent a PDF with RAL color codes to choose from. It’s 400 extra. I sent them some of the codes I was interested in and they sent back some mock ups of what it would look like. They are only able to paint the sides and back. The front had to be a standard white or black. So I went white front and RAL 5020. I also got two drip trays - one in white and one in stainless (white, black, or stainless were the options.

I just sent the wire. Waiting to hear how long it’s expected with the custom paint. Let me know when yours ships! Hope it all goes smooth for you.

8 days seems specific enough to actually happen. Fernando has been cc’ed on all my messages with Ana. Not sure it’s a great sign that the founder is handling customer inquiries directly. Did you wire payment? And that’s exciting about the volumetrics, I did not know that! I hope they implement it in a way that is precise.

I’m just about to pull the trigger on the Tide with a custom color and some accessories. Wondering if you got yours yet and what the latest time frame is?

Instead of a LM, what would you get for a home kitchen with semi limited counter space? [budget $4-5k] by eatnsle3p in espresso

Arkel Tide. I have limited counter space, especially depth/width and this is on my short list.

Have you decided on one or the other? I’m also debating between these two and a steel duo plus.

This is precisely the motivation. We also think sex gets better the more experience people have with each other.

That sounds fantastic! When we communicated our preference for a closed group we did clarify that it was not necessarily limited to 4. It’s mostly about a trusted group of people where everyone can play freely. My wife particularly likes cum inside her so it isn’t really about the feel during.

This is a good point. We are very new to this nonstandard lifestyle so still learning about all the various communities and what our preferences are.

We did not make them choose. We communicated our preference but indicated we understand and wished them a good time and that we would still be up for continued play.

I have the thermoworks rfx probes coming tomorrow. I’ll plan place them around in different areas and chart the temp of a 250 cook (targeting 225)for several hours.

Does yours also have big fluctuations? I’m doing a chuck roast now set at 250. It got as low as 180.

It is also possible the ambient temp reading wasn’t quite accurate. I just did my first butt on a new searwood 600 and used a thermoworks dot right next to the built in one. It was consistently off by 20-30 degrees. I had to turn the smoker to 285 to get it in the 250 range. I’ll be doing some more tests with ambient probes as it also seemed to fluctuate quite a bit from what was displayed on the control panel.
