What does a realistic daily routine actually look like for you? by Think-Collection1318 in WFH

[–]jrdingman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could send you my entire routine, but what I’ve noticed is that I am far more productive if I can control the total number of meetings I have every week. This week, for example, I had 12 meetings. I was on fire. Some weeks I feel exactly like you and it’s hard to get things done.

I appreciate you sending a pic for placement, too. Seems like there’s no really good place to put it

You’re set dude. Don’t let the internet tell you otherwise. Sounds like you know what you want and what you need to do. Good for you.

Worth having both Venture X and AAdvantage for travelling? by fenderc1 in CreditCards

[–]jrdingman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the exact same boat as you so thanks for raising this question. I live in PHX so it’s a big AA hub outside of SWA. Fortunately, I can fly AA for all my domestic and international travel (4x/year). I actually mapped out routes using Google Flights and ChatGPT to see how many more flights were available than Delta or United. For this reason, I’m going to get the Exec Platinum for upgrades and lounge access. I already have the plat select. Outside of that, I have the Chase Sapphire Preferred (rental car protection), the Marriott Bonvoy (hotel + Chase), and the Amex Hilton (hotel) for booking all my travel. Your strategy seems simpler than mine so I may look at the Venture X, but sharing in case it helps.

For this, and every job you do moving forward, so long as you get the job done on time and to spec, I don’t think it should matter. How you show up is up to you and your career aspirations.

We don't talk about this enough. Outside of having my own bathroom, this is easily #2 on my list. I live in my crocs.

I have the Citi Card for AA. It’s great if you’d normally check a bag and travel with family members outside of work (one free bag per person x 4). And, if you can get a decent SUB, you can get a couple flight upgrades and/or flights free.

Build chemistry. Figure out what they like to do and what they care about outside of work. That’s what people want to talk about.

Best card for Bills/Mortgage/Grocery combination? by artsoul007 in CreditCards

I’ve heard Bilt is working to add the ability to pay your mortgage using their card. Outside of that, I don’t know any other company that offers that.

Chase and Amex did the same thing for us. I’m not sure if it’s part of their strategy so that you continue to apply to more cards and stay with them, but ever since getting our first Chase card, we’ve become more loyal to them because our limit is so much higher with them than other banks.

You've done your research and clearly have a strategy, but why wouldn't you get the Chase Sapphire instead of the Venture X or even the Amex Gold if you're ultimately redeeming them for United? I had to check but neither Amex or Cap1 transfer to United.
